Missing My Home Town in Minnesota - Newspaper Challenge

I love Las Vegas.  It's my home - where my family and I live.  But every now and then, I must admit that I miss my hometown - Duluth, Minnesota.  Duluth is situated along beautiful Lake Superior.
This week's Chellenge at http://www.simonsaysstampblog.blogspot.com/ was to create a card somehow incorporating newspaper.  I found some newspaper from Minnesota, and decided to use it to show people my awesome hometown.  I used Graphic 45 paper, and a Verve stamp with my Grandfather's most favorite Bible verse.  This Bible verse, Psalm 121:1-2, always reminds me of beautiful Duluth.  The above photo shows the Aeriel Lift Bridge from "one of the many hills".  It's a beautiful sight every time we drive into Duluth.  I'm so excited to share Duluth with you.

This is my little card.  In addition to the above-mentioned supplies, I used machine stitching, hand-made scrunched seam binding, a vintage button, Prima leaves and a Prima flower.  Thanks for stopping by today.

My Cup Runneth Over,
Karen

  3. What a beautiful card! You're so talented! I thought you would like to know this - yesterday Pastor Matt sent Brad a photo with the subject line of "Guess where I am?" and him with a University of Minnesota shirt. Brad replied, "You must be in heaven!" LOL - Grace =)

  6. What a pretty page!!! I LOVE Duluth!!! I grew up in the Twin Cities and currently reside over the border in WI. We have spent atleast one weekend a year for the past 15 years up in the Duluth area. Love Canal Park and watching the ships come in, Two Harbors and the light house. Splitrock, Gooseberry and all the other trails and rivers! Photos from our last trip, March 2010 on my blog. I hope you have a wonderful day!

  7. Karen, thank you for the wonderful comment. I am now a follower. Yes, Duluth is wonderful. We usually go up in the summer, but spend most of it outside enjoying nature. I have visited a few shops over the years. We also have stopped at the zoo. All these years, we have never walked through the Glensheen Mansion. That is something I would like to do as well. I love walking the trails and visiting the lighthouses. It is just so beautiful and peaceful up there.

  10. Thanks for your visit to my place... and I live in Minnesota, in Inver Grove Heights just outside of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Duluth is a beautiful place and can see why you miss it! It isn't so great here right now in the 100's for weeks almost, although Vegas gets pretty hot too! Anyway thanks for the visit!
