With 9/11 tomorrow, I have to admit that I'm feeling a bit patriotic. I am grateful for the policemen, firemen, military personnel, and all those who serve our country and fight/serve each day to keep us safe. I saw the Fabulous Friday challenge at http://www.frosteddesigns.blogspot.com/ where the challenge was to make something with Tickets, Stamps and Envelopes. I thought I would do something completely different from what I would usually make. I made this card for the son of a friend at church who will be joining the Army soon. I plan to give it to him before he leaves for boot camp.
I used a very old piece of patterned paper with a map print on it, a Maya Road envelope that I tied shut with jute, a Tim Holtz ticket, some Nostalgiques stickers for the stamp, etc., some MM rub-ons and a Scrappy Dreams rub-on, some Tim Holtz mini paper clips, and paint on the edges. That's about it. I am so thankful to all military personnel for their sacrifices. We are a blessed country.

ReplyDeleteAmen Miss Karen,
ReplyDeleteThank you to all of the Policemen, Firemen, and all of the men and women in harms way. Most take the freedoms we have for granted. These freedoms com at a very high price. Awesome card.....
