A Big Congrats 2 U

I made this little card for a friend of mind who just found out she is expecting a baby girl.  She and her husband have been trying for quite some time to have a baby, and she always dreamed of (and prayed for) having a sweet little girl.  She just found out that her prayers have been answered.  So, I thought I'd make this little card for her.  How exciting!  I remember those days in my life.  Now, I'm just enjoying my kids at 12, 19 and 25, and looking forward to grandchildren.

I learned of a wonderful challenge, and really wanted to enter it.  Kimberly has a beautiful blog, and sells the most precious seam binding and other goodies on her lovely blog.  Check it out  by clicking here:  The Craft Spot - You will thoroughly enjoy her blog, her challenges, and her beautiful embellishments for making cards.

Here is her challenge link:

I'm also entering these fun challenges:

I wanted to share one last thing before I sign off today.  As some of you know, I've been struggling with my foot (recovering from surgery), and I found today that I have an infection in my incision (I think from swimming the other day), and I also fell down the stairs yesterday and hurt my right leg.  With all these aches and troubles with my right leg, I've been feeling "down" lately.  Then, today while at the McDonalds drive-through getting my iced coffee, I saw a man with no right leg.  He was going into the restaurant.  It put things in perspective for me.  I will just guess that the man would love to be in my situation with aches and troubles with his right leg, but instead he has no right leg/foot.  It made me very humbled and very thankful that I have a right leg to even have these troubles.  God really showed me that I cannot take anything for granted, and that He is in control.  Others suffer too, often times more than we do.  We need to count our blessings, and pray for the needs of others.  I know I will get better.  I'm SO thankful.

My Cup Runneth Over,
Karen

  8. It's okay to have a pity party - Just an itty bitty one, though - as long as you lift yourself up & show thankfulness in the blessings that are given to you. I definitely focus on my blessings & NOT those pains of life. Life is too precious to squander with negativity. Thank you for sharing your "humbled" moment :)

    Happiness,
    Corrinne

PS - Your creation is lovely. I adore all of the different textures.

  16. Hi there Karen, ah how I feel for you in all of this! have had surgeries and major things go wrong too - but the man with no leg - what perspective! so often we wonder why the LORD allows things so very hard into our lives - do you know this poem? it in an unknown poet so cannot give their name:
    The Weaver

My life is but a weaving between my Lord and me,
I cannot choose the colours; He worketh steadily.

Oftimes He weaveth sorrow, and I in foolish pride,
Forget that he sees the upper and I the underside.

Not ‘till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful in the Weaver’s skilful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.

Behind my life the Weaver stands and works His wondrous will,
I leave it in His all- wise hands and trust His perfect skill.
Anyway thought it might encourage you some more . he see the bigger picture we need to keep "looking unto Jesus"" and not at the mud underneath,
Love in Him, Shaz in oz.x
PS. have decided to follow you too to encourage you some more! God bless you and those you love.

  18. You know what Karen, God sees your good works, and He will bless you for them! Thank you for the wonderful reminder of faith and gratitude--my DH and I have been trying for 7 years to have children to no avail. I still have hope, but I need reminders! And your fabulous little story has seriously put things into a better perspective for me after a not so good week. THANK YOU & HUGS! :) PS: Prayers that your foot will heal SOON!
