Natural Beauty

It's always fun trying to combine various challenges together, and meet the guidelines for each.  I particularly wanted to make something for this week's challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ which requires the use of something "natural", so I chose to use burlap and twine.  I put a vintage image on the burlap and frayed the edges.  Then, I used Melissa Frances patterned paper and a few embellishments to tie it all together.  Here is what I came up with for this project.

I'm about two and a half weeks post-op now.  I'm just starting to be able to bear some weight on my foot, but I need to remember NOT to over-do it.   This can be frustrating, but when I'm up for too long and my foot turns bright purple, that's a pretty good indication that I need to lay down and elevate it.  I thank those of you who have prayed for me, and I want you to know that I am always MORE than happy to pray for you if you ever need it.  Just let me know, and it would be my pleasure.  God is SO GOOD to give us friends who pray, and for answering our prayers.

Here are the challenges I'm entering with this card.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ - Challenge #138 - Use something "natural" which, in my case, is burlap and twine.  I also want to say welcome and congratulations to their new Design Team members.  It is a blessing and honor to be part of a Challenge Blog that strives to honor God through art.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog Celebrates its 3rd Birthday - So I made this vintage Birthday card to help celebrate with them, and. . . in hopes of winning, of course.

Vintage Card Cafe - This is a lovely little challenge blog based in Russia.  One of my on-line friends, Melissa Phillips is on their Design Team.  I just love their sweet, vintage style, and I really want to win some Russian sentiment stamps so I can make cards for my Russian sister-in-law and friends I have in St. Petersburg, Russia.

  2. Beautiful card, I am so jealous of your talent, or maybe I should say, I LOVE the style of cards you make! Everyone has their own style... Your comment on my blog came out perfect, thank you so much for your help. Speaking of help, I would like for you to pray for me. I applied for a job. I would still be working for mentally challenged adult, but instead of driving 90 miles a day, I would be driving 22. I am suppose to find out tommorrow (Wednesday) if I got the job or not, I will let you know if ALOT of caring folks prayers were answered, and this is God's will for me. Hugs, Dawn

    1. Just prayed for you, Dawn. Please let me know how God answers this prayer, and remember to praise Him whatever happens. I just prayed for His will to be done in your life, and that He would be glorified through the outcome and put you in whichever job will draw you closer to Him. Keep in touch and let me know. I'm so blessed to be able to pray for you!
      Hugs,
      Karen
