Getting Back to "Normal"

Well, I don't know just how "normal" I am. . . . . LOL, but I am finally back from both of my out-of-state vacations, and ready to get back into my regular routine.  I have missed crafting, making my blog posts, entering challenges, and visiting other blogs.  It's very difficult to do it from remote locations and different computers.  It feels so good to be back home and on my own computer again.

I had a wedding to attend today, but as soon as I got home this afternoon, I wanted to get busy making cards.  I'm really hoping that everything settles down for me, and that I can get back into the swing of things.

I made this little Summer card using the Pretty Party line by Crate Paper, some hand-cut, machine-stitched felt leaves, a PTI button, and a Pebbles in My Pocket rub-on.

I'm entering this Summer card in the following challenge at Victorine Originals Stamps:
http://www.vostamps.blogspot.com/2012/07/victorine-originals-challenge-39.html - Victorine Originals Challenge #39 - Summertime
I'm also entering the SUPER FUN challenge at Paper Play Challenges.  Their current challenge calls for lots of layers, which BOTH of these cards have.  The top/Summer card has three patterned papers layered with chipboard and felt, and the bottom/Christmas card has three layers of patterned papers as well as ribbons, chipboard and more layered up. Here is a link to their challenge:
http://paperplaychallenges.blogspot.com/2012/08/12-week-31-layer-it-up.html - Paper Play Challenges - Layer It Up (See Above Description for Layering Information)

http://theribbonreelchallenge.blogspot.com/2012/07/challenge-33-button-it.html - The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog - Challenge #33 - Button It - Both of my cards have buttons.  I don't think I'm capable of making a card without a button. . . . LOL

I also made this Christmas card, which was inspired by the very sweet and talented Ingrid Danvers using an older My Mind's Eye Christmas line.  I also used a Just Rite stamp from their lovely Nature's Nested Sentiments stamp set for the "Winter Wonder" sentiment.

I'm entering this Christmas card in the current challenge over at Just Rite Stamps Blog which you can check out by clicking on the following link:

Thanks for visting me today.  As I said, I will be busy crafting this weekend and I hope to start making some posts by Monday if all goes as planned.  If you leave a comment, I will be sure to stop by and visit your blog.  And if you become a new follower here on my blog, I am always more than happy to  head over to your blog and also follow you in return.   I appreciate your visits.

Have a great weekend.
Blessings,

Karen

  2. These are beautiful cards! I can't wait to get my craft area set up so I can get back to work creating. We've relocated my craft room and sewing room to a family multipurpose room, so my new space is about half as big, but the blessings from sharing the space with my daughter, son-in-law and husband will be worth the sacrifice!

  8. Beautiful cards, Karen, and thanks for your visit. We need all the prayers and kind thoughts you can muster. Eric has been in hospital for two weeks, home for four days and then I had to ring for emergency services. He will be in for the foreseeable future as we await biopsy results. I'm only posting scheduled DT cards as I have no time to craft at the moment. Good to hear from you. Hazel x
