I think I need to get invited to a Birthday Party or a wedding real soon. I've had cake on the brain. So when I saw this week's challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge Blog, I knew I just had to play along. Their challenge calls for CAKE. I figured, if I can't eat some, I might as well create with some. I used the adorable Pretty Party line by Crate Paper including the patterned papers, chipboard elements and stickers. Then, I machine stitched everything, inked it all, added some buttons with Baker's twine, seam binding, and gems.
I have SO many projects to get done this afternooon, but I can't focus now that I'm thinking about cake. I could really go for some moist cake with rich, sweet, buttercream frosting piled on top. Doesn't that sound wonderful? I saw this picture of a cake that I am definitely going to make for my husband's next birthday. It's absolutely adorable, not too difficult to make, and it suits him SO perfectly. He is our family's true "Cookie Monster".

Thanks for stopping by to say hello. If you'd like to come to my house with some cake, please feel free. I will make a big pot of hot fresh coffee. I hope to hear that knock at my door soon, and see someone standing there with some cake. Somehow, I think I may be waiting a while. LOL
Blessings,
Karen
Beautiful card! Wish I could send you some cake. Don't have any here, but I did have some luscious red velvet cake at a potluck at church today. It was yummy!
ReplyDeleteOh how I'd love to visit and bring along a yummy cake! I love decorating cakes and this cookie monster one looks scrumptious! I also love buttercream icing and it's so easy to make! Hmmm. I might just have to have a baking lesson as part of school tomorrow! hehehe
ReplyDeleteLove this stitched delight! Wonderful combo of papers and I love the sentiment and buttons you used!
Lovely card Karen - I think if I tried to take cake to your place is may get a bit soggy as I swim across the Pacific :-)!! Tickets to fly are a bit scarce in our home :-(.

Honeybun cake-that would be the best! LOL
ReplyDeleteJust poking around & saw your entry on Stamp n doodle. Great card.
Have a blessed day!!
Hi Karen. That cake is too funny! Love it. And your card is "yummy"!! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I'm actually working some extra hours right now and I'm not sure when I will have time to check all my challenges and play along. I may have to post old projects or my DT projects for a while. And hopefully get back to challenges when I can. Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a yummy card and that cake is toooo cute!! ~ Blessings, Tracey

trop trop fun, ta carte est tellement chou et si appétissante, biz
ReplyDeleteVery pretty with the yummy cupcake and the cute little banner!
ReplyDeleteThis is the cutest cake. Wish I lived close enough to bring you cake!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card! I'm afraid I don't live close to you or I'd bring some cake. Cake is my downfall. I just had a piece of birthday cake after dinner tonight from a party I attended over the weekend. When all else fails, take a trip to your local bakery. The ones around here sell cake by the slice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card! Thanks for playing at Digital Tuesday Challenge.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I know about the cake thing. May daughter and I fell "victim" to a three layer yellow cake with chocolate butter cream. Each layer was about 2 inches (we only bought one slice each) and it took all day to eat it, but we pressed forward like troopers. Now its back to weight watchers (LOL)
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job with your card, very creative! Thanks for sharing with us at Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog!
I can't keep coming here, I be off looking for more cake! (LOL) Fabulous project, very well done! Thanks for playing along with us at Stamp-N-Doodle!

Your card looks fantastic---Shabby Chic at it's best. You make it look easy but I know it's hard because I would want to try making cards in that style but it would take a lot of work since I am just a bright-colored person...LOL Can't resist telling you how handsome your son looks in that suit. They really look nice in those, right? Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us last week at PIO!!
Have a GREAT day!
