This week's new challenge at The Kraft Journal is to make a CAS (clean and simple) card. Well, for those of you who know me very well at all, you know that I have a bit of a "problem" with "keeping it simple". I tend to over-do it sometimes with ribbons, buttons, and all sorts of embellishments, and I do get carried away most of the time. So, it was a true "challenge" for me to keep it CAS, which means that YOU can all do it, too! I hope that you will stop by and check out the fun CAS Challenge this week at The Kraft Journal.
I made my CAS Christmas card using Simple Stories' new Christmas line patterned paper adhered to some Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock, some wool felt to cut the holly, leaves, and flower, some jute and Baby Blue Baker's Twine, and the sentiment is a Making Memories rub-on which I put on a Tim Holtz Journaling Ticket. I also used some rusty vintage jingle bells, machine stitching, and decorated a little Kraft Truffle Box that I used for my craft boutique I did this past weekend. I made the most AMAZING truffles that I put inside them, and they sold like CRAZY......but they were insanely delicious! You might want to try this recipe.
Here is a link for these incredible treats. You WON'T be disappointed, let me just assure you of that! YUM! The Pioneer Woman - Chocolate Truffles With Coarse Sea Salt
The majority of the items I used for my CAS Christmas card (the red highlighted linked items above) came from The Kraft Outlet which is one of the most amazing stores on the internet for card-making, scrapbooking and all paper-crafting in general. They carry SO many darling shabby-vintage finds that you can use in your creations. I hope you will check it out. For instance, these darling little Kraft Truffle Boxes are just $0.50 each. The variety is great, the prices are low, and the shipping is always very reasonable. Why not treat yourself to a little early Christmas gift? As long as you use something "Kraft" on your entry, you are always welcome to play along in the fun challenges at The Kraft Journal, and be eligible to win a $15 gift certificate. I really hope that you will join our challenge this week.
