Best Wishes Card & Glassine Bag

Well, after my rather depressing blog post yesterday, I figured I'd better post something bright and cheerful today.  So, last night after the kids went to sleep, I made a card and a matching glassine bag.  This idea came from this week's tutorial at Nicole Heady's Blog/Papertrey Ink Make it Monday video by Dawn McVey.  It was a great idea because SO MANY TIMES my cards are too "lumpy", thick and heavily embellished to fit in a regular envelope.  Glassine bags are adorable, and this idea works perfectly.  So, I got to work.......and this is what I came up with.

Just the decorated glassine bag (since it's too lumpy for an envelope):
Card placed inside decorted glassine bag:
These projects were made using October Afternoon's 5 & Dime patterned papers, a few Papertrey Ink products, a Rusty Pickle rub-on sentiment, washi tape, scrunched seam binding, a Freckled Fawn tag, paint on the edges, DMC floss, machine stitching, and a little green straight pin.

I'm entering it in the following challenges:

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge - Challenge #100 - See Description Above Regarding Tutorial.  The Papertrey Ink products I used on this card and matching glassine envelope include PTI jute, the Heart Print Die Collection (3 sizes), Hanging By a Thread Stamp Set, Thread Card Die-Cut Collection, and PTI wool felt.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - Simon Says Use Washi Tape.  I just love washi tape, and I used three different styles of it on this card (pink polka dot, black/white polka dot, and yellow floral).  A girl can NEVER own enough washi tape!

Simon Says Stamp & Show Vintage Challenge Blog - Lace Love Challenge.  I just LOVE using lace on my projects!  For this project, I used a sweet yellow lace on the glassine envelope.

Great Impressions Stamps Challenge Blog - January Challenge - Follow The Sketch.  Here is the sketch I followed for my card.  Isn't it cute?  And.....I would LOVE to Guest Design there!

My Craft Spot by Kimberly - Challenge #82 - Anything Goes

Well, that's it for today.  I hope you will stop back by tomorrow for a super fun Blog Hop!  You won't want to miss out on all the fun.  Hope to see you then!

Have a blessed day!
