Letting Go of Love - A Mother's Heart

This is a new experience for me.  I've never been on this end of it, and I'm finding it to be one of the saddest, and most difficult things I've ever done.  Our oldest daughter, Andrea, who is now just turned 26, got her heart broken Sunday night when her boyfriend of nine months, Nicholas, called off their relationship.  We aren't mad at Nick; we're praying for him every day and really trying to be loving and understanding of his feelings too.  But watching our precious daughter have her heart broken is SO hard.  She is not eating much, is crying a lot, and is just in such a broken state right now.  As a mother, not being able to comfort her adequately is very frustrating.
When I saw the current challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles, I knew that it would be the perfect outlet for me to share my heart with all my blog friends.  Andrea, Nick, and well....really all of us, need your prayers.  We are praying for GOD'S WILL to be done - not our own.  Andrea needs to hear from Him for direction, and Nicholas needs to draw near to, and seek after Him; so your prayers are greatly appreciated.  My mother's heart aches for Andrea.  That's what caused me to share this layout.  The theme over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles this week is "Sad Moments". This is most certainly a sad moment.  I'm hoping that it will pass soon, and that the healing process will begin for everyone.  I just hate seeing her like this.

Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge Blog - Challenge #24 - Sad Moments (Read Above).  The envelope underneath the photo holds a note that says, "If you love something, let it go.  If it comes back to you, love it forever.  If it doesn't, it wasn't really yours to keep."  This challenge is the primary reason for me making this layout.  I want to thank Nicole and her DT for sharing this challenge giving me the opportunity to let the healing begin, and for caring enough to want to hear about our "Sad Moments".

I'm also entering:

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - Use Washi Tape.  I used LOTS of it here.

Simon Says Stamp Vintage Challenges - Lace Love.  I used a couple different laces, and my theme is definitely about love; or the "letting go" of love.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really do appreciate your prayers.  It's such a difficult thing to see your child hurting.  But we know that God is in control, and that He will work out all the details for His glory and according to His perfect will.  Andrea wants nothing other than to be in the center of God's will, even when that's difficult to do.  Praise God for giving us the assurance that He will NEVER leave us or forsake us!

Blessings,
Karen

  8. Oh Karen, what can I say... Surrender it ALL to Him, every last ounce of hurt, pain and misery...and pray for His loving guidance. He is our most compassionate and merciful Father. He will grant you the comfort that you need. I have you, Andrea and Nick in my prayers.

Your layout truly speaks from the heart.

  9. I'm so sorry for all your hurt and bruised hearts. It is so hard to watch our children hurt and our kisses can't take away the pain. Trust in our Lord and even though it's too painful right now to see, God is always working out some greater good that one day will be such a blessing given in disguise. Hugs...

  10. A lovely layout for such a sad time. We went through the same thing a few years ago when Michael's fiancee called off the engagement. It was so very hard for us to try and comfort him as he was doing his army training away from home. Fortunately all that hurt is forgotten with him meeting Aisling, getting married and having their beautiful daughter, Bronwyne. They are having a precious two weeks together now as Michael is on his R & R leave from Afghanistan. When he goes back he'll only have another 8 weeks to do out there and then he'll be home for a good while :o)

Hugs for you all, Margaret xx

  11. Dear Karen, sending you a big hug and I'll be praying for her and for you! May she rest in the unfailing love of the Lord Jesus!
Beautiful page! May she and you remember the time spent together and know that it's a part of you and part of the life God has given. I lost my first love when he broke off our engagement and I was devastated, and now I can look back and see God's guiding hand. Continue to trust in the infinite wisdom of our Lord!
    Love and Prayers,
    Jennifer

  15. So sorry to hear about what happened to your daughter! The scrapbook page you made for her is just lovely. I went through a similar thing with my youngest daughter. It was about 10 years ago and she was so distraught. She now has been married to a wonderful caring man for 7 years (not the same guy) and he is so good and kind to her.
I will be praying for your daughter and you because I know how devastating it can be for the both of you.
    Hugs

  18. I think Svetlana said it perfectly. I am so sorry to hear of your mother's heart hurting for your baby girl so. I can't even imagine, but know I won't be able to escape it here, with my 3 girls either. The Lord is gracious to fill the void, and loving enough to carry us when we are week. Praising him, that he will be faithful in this time for all of you. Thank you for sharing with us at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.
