The Kraft Journal - Crimp/Fold

When I think of a Crimp/Fold Challenge, this first thing that comes to my mind is Shabby Vintage goodness and sweetness.  For this week's Design Team inspiration project at The Kraft Journal, I took a piece of srap cardboard with a corrugated side and I painted, distressed and glittered it.  Then, I placed a Crafty Secrets Mini-Vintage Creative Scraps image on the right, and made big shabby flower for the upper left by cutting Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die-cut flowers out of Vintage Dictionary Pages from The Kraft Outlet and inking them with Tim Holtz inks.  Other sweet little touches for this project include Prima leaves, Papertrey Ink jute, scrunched seam binding, Recollections flowers, pearl stickers, and rows of pearls, a Maya Road green leaf stick pin and a pink craft pin, two Tiny Clothes Pins and a painted and glittered Silver Bottle Cap for the flower's center.  The lacey border on the righ-hand side of this porject was made by cutting more of the darling  Vintage Dictionary Pages with the Dutch Scallop Square  Cheery Lynn Designs die-cut.  I used only one half of the square to border the right side of the card.  Also, I think I painted, glittered, and inked just about every square inch of this project.  I LOVE me some glitter!

This is just one of those projects that looks SO much prettier in real life.  Well that........and the fact that I really need to learn how to take better photographs.  My photos really are quite awful, and don't do my projects justice.  I am in awe of some of the photos people are able to capture of their art.  That's a goal for me this year - learn to take better pictures.  I'm really gonna work on that!

Here are the challenges I'm entering with this card.  I love sharing my art in challenges as I'm always hopeful that they will be a blessing to someone, or that I may meet someone new through the experience, and.....of course, winning an occasional prize is always a special  (and much-appreciated) treat.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - This week, Simon Says:  "Something New" - I used a new die-cut I got for Christmas, and a brand new bottle of ultra-fine glitter.

Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage Challenge Blog - January Challenge - I used a
Crafty Secrets Mini Vintage Creative Scraps for my focal image - SO soft, sweet and pretty!  I just LOVE their sweet products!

Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog - Something New - I'm using a new die-cut and a new bottle of glitter

The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog - Challenge #181 - Celebrate - What am I celebrating?  This card is being sent to my friend, Mary, who has (so far) had her new kidney (after transplant) for about two months now.  A new lease on life - now that's something to celebrate!

Frosted Designs Challenge Blog - Fabulous Friday - Recipe Challenge - Out of the list, I decided to use Misting (Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist), Punches (flower punch), Stamping (sentiment), Stickers (Crafty Secrets image).  I've been a long-time fan of Patsy Lewis (this week's sponsor), and would LOVE to win some of the delicious trim!

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge Blog - Challenge #63 - My New Toys/Add Ribbon - I am a HUGE fan of Really Reasonable Ribbon, and their current challenge calls for using a "new toy" which is my new Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die-cut, and of course - the use of ribbon.  I used scrunched seam binding and jute.

Craft Your Passion Challenge Blog - Challenge #144 Vintage/Shabby Chic - One of my favorite styles of all time!

It's All About The Vintage Challenge Blog - Lace Dream - I love all things vintage, lacy and sweet.

I hope you have a wonderful day, and I thank you for stopping by to say hello.

Blessings,
Karen
