The Kraft Journal - Tutorial Time

I have been SO blessed by my new Design Team position at The Kraft Journal.  I love the sweet and talented group of designers I'm working with, and.....I absolutely LOVE the sweet shabby products found at The Kraft Outlet.  I enjoy designing with their fun products each week, and always look forward to making and sharing my projects and seeing the creations by my fellow Design Team Members.  If you want to see some really great inspiration, just head on over to the blog at The Kraft Journal and check out their projects for this week's "Punch It Out" Challenge.  To play along you need to use kraft paper, or any items found at The Kraft Outlet and let me just say....they have DARLING items starting as low as $0.20 - yes, twenty cents!  You will want to check it out for sure!

I didn't make a project this week for the "Punch It Out" Challenge because it was my week to make the tutorial.  I wasn't sure what to share, and so...I decided to make a paper bag album because so many people have asked me how to make them.  While there are MANY ways to make a paper bag album, this tutorial shows a quick and easy way to make a paper bag album.  It's the cheapest and easiest way to make a mini album, and to be perfectly honest - I think they're adorable.  You can see the comlete tutorial here at The Kraft Journal.  The tutorial will show you how to lay your bags and how to utilize the built-in pockets.  This is the cover of the album:
The cover uses several awesome products from The Kraft Outlet including Air Mail Washi Tape, some Baker's Twine (which comes in MANY colors, but I used the red and blue for this page), the adorable little Jenni Bowlin Flag Banner Stickers and their coordinating Jenni Bowlin Chipboard Flag Banners to reinforce them, a Grungy Primitive Tag and a Tim Holtz Memo Pin tucked into the bow.
In addition to the products listed above, my second page and first pocket use a Card Sleeve Envelope that works just perfectly to tuck in a gift card, and a Mini Kraft Merchandise Bag (you know, some of those twenty cent items I mentioned!!!), some of the Tape Measure Washi Tape, and some October Afternoon patterned papers and accent stickers.  I also used some Melissa Frances rub-ons, acrylic paint on the edges here and there, and machine stitching (again...my signature move, right?).

These are the challenges I'm entering with this little project:

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - This week....Simon Says "Use Washi Tape" - I used two different washi tapes on this project.  I used Air Mail and Tape Measure washi tape.  You will LOVE washi tape if you've never tried it.

Simon Says Stamp & Show Challenge Blog - Challenge:  "What Are You Known For"?  - I am kinda known for using my sewing machine ALL THE TIME.  On this project, I used my sewing machine to stitch the album together, and as accent work on the pages (which you can see in the photos).  Give it a try - it's fun!

Thanks for visiting today, and don't forget to check out all the fun at The Kraft Journal.  We look forward to seeing your sweet creations shared in our challenge this week.

Blessings,
Karen

Sorry to hear your son was sick. We will be praying for his quick recovery. It was hard for us to get back into the swing of schooling after Christmas break. It was sooooo nice just relaxing, crafting and having nothing else on my plate for a couple of weeks. :) Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
    Be Blessed!
