Use Your Scraps at The Kraft Journal

This week's challenge at The Kraft Journal is "Use Your Scraps".  When I think of scraps, I think about quilts, so I used the idea of patching together a quilt-like background using several scraps of Simple Stories patterned papers that I had lying around on my scrap table.  Then, I added several "sewing themed" goodies starting with a Lunch Bag Kraft Notecard from The Kraft Outlet, and then added two snippets of Ruler Twill Tape and made a bow using some Red, Dark Green, and Light Green Baker's Twine.  I also tucked in two of the very vintage looking and cool Tim Holtz Memo Pins along with a Maya Road chipboard pair of scissors that I painted and glittered, a Papertrey Ink spool die-cut and stamp, a vintage glittered button, a Pink Paislee wooden spool, and a Crafty Secrets vintage dress form stamp.  This is my finished project.
Here are the challenges I'm entering with this "Scrappy" little card:

Dream Valley Challenge Blog - Anything Goes - One of their prizes is 30 pounds to spend (UK currency) on washi tape from Washi Tapes Co.- one of my most favorite embellishments.

Stamping Sensations - January Challenge/Friendship - This card is for a dear friend who loves to sew, and has been going through a rough time.  I really think this will be an encouragement to her!  I love making cards for friends, so this "Friendship" challenge was very inspiring to me.

The Squirrel and The Fox Challenge Blog - Anything Goes Sponsored by the wonderful Robyn's Fetish

Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenge Blog - Use Ribbon On Your Project.  This is NEVER a problem for me.  LOL

Cute Card Thursdays Challenge Blog - Beat The Blues.  This card is for a friend who loves to sew, and is going through a difficult time (feeling blue, for sure!)  It's my hope that this card telling her, "When life gives you scraps, make quilts", meaning of course - when life hands you a difficult times, just make the best of it - will cheer her up and get her to "beat the blues".

Thanks for visiting today!
