Going "CAS" at The Kraft Journal

One of my Design Team positions is at challenge blog, The Kraft Journal, which is sponsored by its own store The Kraft Outlet.  Each week, we have a fun new challenge where you can play along.  The only "requirement" is that you use either Kraft products, or any product(s) from the WONDERFUL Kraft Outlet.  Each week, a Top 3 is selected by our Design Team based on overall creativity.  The more you play each week; creating quality projects to "knock our socks off", the more times your impressive and creative work will be recognized and placed into the Top 3.  Then, at the end of each month, all those names from the four to five weeks' Top 3 lists are placed into a Random Draw, and the random winner of that drawing will receive a $15 gift certificate to The Kraft Outlet.  You really do have a great chance of winning when you stop by and share your best work with us.  We do our best to stimulate your creativity by posting helpful tutorials on the challenge blog each Wednesday.  We do our best to show helpful ideas for creatively using the amazing Kraft and other products from The Kraft Outlet.  Check out the store, grab some new goodies, and come play along with us for the chance to win.  We look forward to seeing your creativity using Kraft products.
This week's challenge at The Kraft Journal is a CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge, and I usually struggle with CAS cards.  So I pulled out a few of my new supplies from The Kraft Outlet to create something fairly simple.  I began with a Lunch Bag Kraft Note Card and then added a couple different styles of the fabulous new Decorative Washi Tapes now available at The Kraft Outlet, and then I adhered them to the kraft card as well as to a Mini Kraft Merchandise Bag.  Next, I added the black accent of a Jenni Bowlin Rub-On to make it POP.  Two of the reasons I love the Mini Kraft Merchandise Bags so much are 1: because they are just the perfect size for tucking in a gift card (which I did - if you can see it peeking through), and 2:  the fact that they cost just TWENTY CENTS each!!  I lightly touched the edges with cream colored acrylic paint, and then added an accents at the top using a Number Flag Banner Sticker adhered to the coordinating Chipboard Flag Pieces with a candy-coated glittered Tiny Wooden Clothes Pin for fun!  If I can create a CAS card, YOU can do it too...so I hope to see you ALL play along in this week's fun CAS challenge at The Kraft Journal.

Have a blessed week!

  4. Karen, this is so adorable! What a pretty, feminine birthday card! CAS and I struggle in our relationship LOL so this card is a great inspiration for me. Your use of Washi tape is also helpful - I strugle with that as well. :)

Another job well done, my Friend. :)

    Hugs,

  10. Hi Karen! Hope your weekend was good. Hope your son is doing well with the testing, I've been praying for him. :) Tests always made me super nervous also! I'm so glad there aren't any tests in cardmaking! LOL
I love your CAS card! I haven't even tried to make one yet. I'm going to try one this week, Lord willing. I really like the rub on and bag you used. Now I'm going to have to check out this store and spend more moolah! :) haha
