Memories of Happy Times

Well, I must say that it feels good to be back home and back to my family, friends, church and....my craft room!  I had such a wonderful vacation, and I thank you all so much for the well-wishes you sent me for a blessed visit with my dear friend, Patti, and my family.  As lovely as it is to visit, it's always a good feeling to be back home.

Here we are at Wednesday again, and that means it's time once again for a new challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  For this week's inspiration project, I created another mini album.  My scripture is printed on canvas and attached to the envelope that is tucked inside the pocket of my mini album.  I tried to take a picture of each page so that you could see all the details.  I used primarily items from October Afternoon, but I also added plenty of other goodies as well.  I will try to name them all, but if you have any questions at all about what I used, just let me know.
The cover has lots of October Afternoon patterned papers, chipboard and stickers.  I also used a Melissa Frances rub-on (memories) and a Papertrey Ink die-cut (happy) but everything else you see on the cover is October Afternoon.
This is the second page.  Again, lots of October Afternoon patterned papers and chipboard going on here.  Some super cute new thin, striped washi tape from Little B that I picked up on vacation at Archivers, the brocade border is also a die-cut from Papertrey Ink, and my infamous machine stitching (as always).  The 2 is a piece of October Afternoon chipboard, and the "gether" was printed onto a sticker on the computer.
This last picture shows Page 3 as well as the envelope that was tucked inside the pocket.  This is where I placed my word art/scripture for this week.  I saved plenty of room for photos in this album, but also love having envelopes inside the pockets so that you can include more photos and other memories.  The heart border is a die-cut from Papertrey Ink cut from wool felt, and that shabby flower up in the corner is cut from a scrap of denim material using a Die-Namics Loopy Flower Die-cut.  There's a button with baker's twine in the center of the flower.  Most everything else is from October Afternoon.

Twist of Faith Cards Challenge Blog - Challenge #47 - Borders and Fancy Edges - I used a scalloped border paper on the cover, and a few different border die-cuts throughout.

Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog - Die-Ing For a Punch - I used several different die-cuts on this mini album.  You can read all the details for each page.

Southern Girls Challenge Blog - Challenge #74 - No Spoolin' - I used wool felt to make my heart border, and denim for my flower, but nothing from a spool.  How fun!

Great Impressions Rubber Stamps - July Challenge - Anything Goes - I keep trying to win this challenge and gain the opportunity to Guest Design with these awesome stamps!

I really hope that you will all stop by Word Art Wednesday to play along in our challenge this week.  We have two fabulous sponsors again this week:  Your Next Stamp (rubber stamps and die-cuts) is offering a $20 gift certificate, and The Shabby Cottage is offering some darling vintage images of the winner's choice.  Please stop by and share your creations with us for the chance to win!

Have a blessed week,

Karen

  17. Karen I love these albums that you have been making. So inspiring indeed. I so love the country feel that October Afternoon papers provide and you sure have mastered the art of Album making that is for sure. I have been trying to make a mini album for so long that it is becoming an old project. Lol. Maybe I should rub shoulders with you. Lol. Your project is stunning and I love everything about it. Thanks for providing me with the opportunity to share my card this week. It was a labor of love though the enemy tried to trip me up several times, but I would not give in. Praise be to God. Lol. God is good all the time regardless of how much goes on in our lives, even crafting. Lol. Still working on my email to you, hope to get it completed tonight. Love you for all your inspiring words of encouragement and care and for always inspiring us with your God given talent. Big Hugs.
