Hello, friends! I hope you all had an amazing and relaxing weekend. I know that I sure enjoyed mine. The weekends just seem to pass far too quickly. But nonetheless, I always make the most of them, and hope you all enjoyed yours as well.
Karen Letchworth for the Kraft Journal |
For this week's Buttons, Bows or Bangles Challenge at The Kraft Journal Challenge Blog, I really wanted to do something creative with buttons and bows. I started this week's project with a fun burlap bag to which I added several die-cut flowers made from Prairie Point Junction wool felt. The centers of the flowers are accented with some of my vintage "Buttons" tied with lots of Natural Hemp Cord and Red Baker's Twine and jute to make the "Bows". I cut my leaves from green wool felt as well as a few burlap leaves cut from a Burlap Tag (on sale - 20% off this week) to give my project a vintage rustic look. Since I wasn't quite sure what a "Bangle" is, I added a Tim Holtz Memo Pin which holds a tiny heart-shaped PTI tiny tag die-cut that was cut from a Grungy Prim Tag, and the sentiment on the heart was stamped using Papertrey Ink's tiny tags matching sentiments stamp set. The bag can be used as a decoration, and/or as a gift bag.
I'm entering this in the following challenge:
Dream Valley Challenges - #67 - Buttons - I used several of my vintage buttons in the center of my felt flowers.
Pile It On Challenge Blog - Challenge #40 - Primary Color/Main Focus Is Your Favorite Color - My favorite color is PINK! I love to accent PINK on many of my creations, and accent it with blue, red, and cream.
