When my hubby and I moved to Las Vegas in 1989 with our then 2-year-old daughter, we would always refer to Minnesota as "home". But now that we've lived here for over 25 years, and raised our children here, this is our home. While we enjoy visiting our families and spending time with them, there's nothing quite like being in our own home with just the five of us. With my Dad's death, the funeral, Audra's cancer, and all that those situations have involved, it's been a crazy summer. But as of this morning, everyone is headed HOME! My boys should be home by Friday, and our sweet Lily is coming home later this month. I can hardly wait until we're all together. There's no feeling quite like having all your babies tucked snuggly in their own beds. I'm excited to say the least.
My first card (above) is my card for this week's challenge at Word Art Wednesday, and it uses the free word art/scripture file available. I printed the scripture onto a piece of graph paper (by accident) and ended up using it. I added some scraps of patterned paper to the left, half a doily, and a strip of cream card stock with a Martha Stewart border punch. I also added two October Afternoon accent pieces (music circle and music butterfly), some sea foam seam binding, and a paper flower. I also added some tiny pearl accents on, and below, the butterfly and strip of washi tape. I really hope you will stop by to play along in our challenge this week at Word Art Wednesday.
My second card was made with some older My Mind's Eye patterned paper and journaling spot. I machine stitched it, added two rows of vintage cream lace to the side, a few lengths of jute, and a seam binding bow made from the Stormy Skies Ribbon Collection by Verve. The sentiment stamp is also from Verve Stamps.
I'm sharing my card(s) here:

P.S. I warmly invite you all to stop by this page to read my sister-in-law, Audra's story. She has brain cancer and is undergoing chemo therapy and radiation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. ANY help is greatly appreciated. Here's the link: Audra's Story
