Spring Has Sprung

Today is officially the first day of Spring, and it's a bright and sunny 85 degrees here in the beautiful Las Vegas valley.  My BFF of well over 40 years (let's just say...without completely giving away my age) is here scrapping and card-making with me for a week.  We're having such an awesome time that NOTHING could ruin my good mood.  Not even unorganized people who drive me nuts!  It's just been an amazing week of creating and enjoying one another's company.  We've made nearly 20 cards, a few mini albums, and some sweet home decor projects since she's been here; and we're not stopping any time soon.  These are just two of the cards we've whipped up, and I will be sharing MANY more as the days (and weeks) pass by after she's gone.  It's just too much to post all at once.  And let me tell you.....they are CUTE projects if I do say so myself.
Both of these cards were created using older Crate Paper products that we both had an abundance of, and needed to use up.  We used Crate Paper Pretty Party line primarily on these two cards.  The first one has wood grain patterned paper and some other patterns, a stamped sentiment (from Michael's), and some of the chipboard from the same line.  I machine stitched a zig zag stitch down the side with some ruler paper.  The butterfly and flowers give a touch of Spring to my first card.
The second card uses the very same line, and includes a sweet little bird on the journalling card, some pearl accent stickers at the bottom, and a long length of Blueberry Baker's Twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The chipboard flowers (along with my singing bird) and sticker sentiment (Oh Happy Day) are the perfect Spring touches to this card.
I just LOVE Really Reasonable Ribbon's amazing color selection of baker's twine.  You're sure to find just the perfect shade for your next card.  Be sure to check out all their sweet trims as well as the Spring Challenge taking place on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.

These are the challenges where I'm shairng these Spring cards:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says Cute and Cuddly - I think my butterfly and bird will have to be "cuddly" enough for now, and I've definitely got the "cute" part covered.

Choux Choux Paper Arts - Lori Hairston's Challenge #5 Easter/Spring - My cards are more for Spring with the butterfly, bird, etc.

Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday Linky Party

Thanks for stopping by!
