Happy Mother's Day Memories

With Mother's Day coming up THIS Sunday, I've had a few orders for cards.  I am down to only three extra cards left now, and hoping that no more big orders come in because I've got such a busy week ahead.  I'm happy to say that both of our Mother's Day packages are already in route to Minnesota, and will be in both my hubby's mothe,r and my mother's, hands on their special day.  We always wish we could be with them on Mother's Day, but it has only worked out a few times since we moved to Nevada in 1989 that we actually got to spend the day with them.  Only distance separates us...never our love for them.  Sure hope they both enjoy their hand-made cards, gifts and goodies we sent their way this year.  Neither Darren or I enjoy thinking about the day we can no longer celebrate them here on earth.  So while they are here, we take every opportunity we have to let them both know how very loved and appreciated they are.
This card was made, once again, with lots of great Crate Paper producs.  This includes the patterned papers, chipboard pieces (memories), ephemera, and stickers.  The little ticket at the bottom is Jenni Bowlin, the light aqua trim is Making Memories, and I also used some vintage scotch tape, machine stitching, and a mini pink pearl accent sticker.
I've really been struggling lately with my (lacking) photography skills.  I'm planning to watch some Youtube videos to learn new ways to improve this skill.  I've been using a photography tent for a couple years now, but I'm tiring of how it yellows my photos.  I just need some new ideas.  My favorite photos were taken outside on an old tree stump we had back there.  Those photos turned out great, so I may be on to something there.
So today, I took the photos of this card upstairs in our daughter's old bedroom (and empty room that needs a facelift and a purpose) but I still haven't achieved what I really wanted with the photographs.  It's a journey I'm on now, and I will get there eventully.  But for now......mediocre photographs.
These are the challenges I found where I can share this particular card.  It's nice to be able to join in some of the awesome challenges out there, but it can never match the feeling of knowing that my Mother's Day packages are in the mail, and that our moms will both be reminded of how much we love, appreciate and miss them.

I relate to not being with your mother on Mother's Day... since we got married in '88 I think I've had 2 with mine. Thankful that miles don't hinder the love!
