A Quiet Happy Day

My house is so quiet today that I can actually hear myself thinking, and that's a scary thing.  When I'm left alone, my mind quickly goes to ice cream, coffee and card-making.  I've already had one vanilla latte today, and I'm sure to make a Starbucks run this afternoon.  I haven't hit the ice cream yet, but I have been in my craft room making cards today.  This quiet I'm experiencing is becoming common place around here as the kids continue to grow and spread their wings.  I'd better keep making cards, or I'm likely to become as big as the wide side of a barn eating ice cream and drinking lattes all day....LOL
I created this card with one of my nieces in mind.  She could use a little extra encouragement, so I will be sending her this card.  I tried to keep it flat enough to mail while still keeping it interesting.  I used some new Pebbles Spring Fling patterned papers, journalling card and 3-D cardboard embellishment.  I love the gold foil accents on these papers. I stamped a PTI background sentiment at the bottom of my card, and added some sequins, washi tape and baker's twine.  I also machine stitched around the edges in cream.

I'm sharing this card in these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge - Simon Says "Tic-Tac-Toe" - I made to tic-tac-toe straight across the top by using SEQUINS, GOLD and STAMP.  I also had a tic-tac-toe going down the right side with STAMP, CARDBOARD, WASHI.  See details/products used listed above in detail.

Thank you for visiting, and have a blessed day!

  6. This is beautiful Karen! I so love the sentiment and I'm sure your niece will love it too. My kids are grown too but I have nieces with me at home so it's still loud. I don't keep ice cream at home for this very reason. Thanks for always leaving me such lovely comments. I so appreciate them. Hugs, Robin
