Baby Mine

It doesn't matter how old your kids are....they will ALWAYS be your babies.  Our youngest, my "baby" Andrew, will be turning 17 next month.  He is such a joy in my life, and is such a good kid.  He's a normal teenager, but he really has a heart for the Lord; and tries so hard to live his life right in a way that is honoring to his Savior, Jesus Christ.  Well, my baby boy is really sick this week.  He has a terrible sinus infection and pharyngitis (throat infection), an inner ear infection, and air bubbles in his inner ear that are causing vertigo among other uncomfortable side effects.  He is miserable, and I hate seeing him in such pain.  I'd much rather be sick than to ever see my children suffer.  He's missing his hockey games, spending time with his friends, and being the crazy, energetic mood-setter around here.  I would greatly appreciate your prayers for my sweet son, Andrew.
All this talk about babies just to say that I was asked to make a baby card today for a friend who needs it for a baby shower this weekend.  I grabbed my Carta Bella Baby Mine collection and put this together.  I added some seam binding, stickers and chipboard from the Carta Bella line, baker's twine, a button, and a snippet of lace that's attached using my Tim Holtz mini stapler.

I'm making Andrew his favorite soup tonight, Chicken Tortilla Soup, sprinkled with grated cheddar cheese and topped with crispy tortilla strips.  YUM!  I hope between that and the four medications the doctor put him on yesterday, this gunk will be cleared up soon.  He really needs a good night's sleep.  Last night was a really rough one, and we all know that rest/sleep is so important when you're sick.  I really do appreciate your prayers for him.

I'm sharing this card here:

  2. What a sweet card! Praying for your Andrew to have a speedy recovery! It is hard to see our little boys sick; mine has finished his first year of college and I have to look up to him, but he is still my little boy!

  3. What a beautiful card Karen - I can sympathize with Andrew as I too have a sinus infection, and I will pray for him

  4. Sweet card. Prayers for your son. Vertigo is horrid enough to deal with but add in all the other and it can feel like you're never going to be up and around. It's so nice when your Mom makes your favorite soup.

  6. I'm so sorry to hear that Andrew is still so sick. Tim has a sinus infection and that is bad enough without all the extra complications Andrew has. Poor guy!! I'll continue to pray. I sure hope the meds kick in soon and he's feeling back to his normal self ASAP.

Your card is beautiful! I love those papers and of course all your usual sweet touches.

    Hugs!!
