As many of you know, one of the many people I admire in the card-making and creative world is the talented Melissa Phillips. I have lifted many of her sweet cards; and this one is such the case. When I saw it back in April when she first posted it on her blog, not only did it inspire me to purchase the PTI stamp set and die-cuts she used, but it also inspired me to buy all the same patterned papers because I thought they were just OH, SO SWEET, and I knew that I had to replicate this card almost literally. I absolutely LOVE it, and the photos don't even do it justice. This has become my favorite new stamp set, and I'm just smitten with these soft, sweet patterned papers.
I used Bo Bunny and Prima patterned papers, Bay Leaf Seam Binding, a small Pink Sweetheart Blossom Flower, a pearl accent sticker, some sequins, and I stamped and embossed the feathers in silver, white, and pink. I just love how they shimmer and sparkle. LOVE it!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Add Some Texture - I added texture by embossing my feathers, adding sequins, and giving my card several layers and embellishments. While this is a fairly flat card (for my personal crafting style), it still has LOTS of great texture.
DL Art Challenge #185 - Thankful Thursday - Anything Goes
Scrapy Land Challenge Blog - Challenge #46 - Emboss It - I heat embossed my stamped feathers - one is embossed in pink, one in silver, and the other in white. The die-cut I used that's sold at Scrapy Land Dies is the scalloped border die I used which is from Spellbinders.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and please be sure to visit again soon. I'm always so grateful for your comments.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Karen!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is breathtaking. I love any paper that is reminiscent of a softly toned calico, and the details on the embossed feathers is just amazing. Love how you let some of the tiny feathers peek through and completely understand why this was a stamping need!

This is an absolutely stunning card and yes- I can definitely see the Melissa Phillips vibe here (I love her work, too)! But you can hold your own and this card was totally inspiring. I never would've thought to combine feathers with a shabby chic look, but you nailed it!! So lovely and thank you for sharing your skills with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
