Celebrating Audra

August 4 will forever be a special day of the year for me.  That's because it's Audra's birthday today.  Just because she's gone doesn't change the fact that August 4 is her birth day, and that it's a day for celebrating.  Audra's not celebrating any more birthdays here on this earth; but rather, she is celebrating her birthday (and EVERY day) in the presence of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.  For that, I CELEBRATE because I am so BLESSED.  I'm BLESSED to know for certain where Audra is, on her birthday and every day.  Not because she was a good person with a kind heart, or because of her endless hours of volunteering, etc.  It's simply because I know that Audra placed her faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, gave her life to Him, and asked Him to save her sinful soul.  So for that and so much more, I will forever consider myself BLESSED.  Happy Birthday, to my precious sister Audra.  I CELEBRATE YOU!
I created this card with her in mind.  It has flowers, bright cheery colors, and a great sentiment.  I used an old piece of patterned paper from my stash, a Crate Paper chipboard frame, a Green Paper Leave and lots of Mulberry Flowers/Open End Roses (in Coral, Deep Ivory, and Light 2-Tone Pink) from Really Reasonable Ribbon,
I used a sticker sentiment (BLESSED) from My Mind's Eye, vellum and sequins to create my shaker element, a black and white polka dot patterned paper that I used a Martha Stewart border punch on to create a decorative border at the bottom.  I inked the border and my entire card in Hickory Smoke Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  Here's where I am sharing my card:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Fabulous Florals" - I used lots of mulberry paper flowers on this sweet card.

Pile It On Challenge Blog - Challenge #113 - Shaker Element - I made this shaker element with a chipboard frame, vellum, and lots of sequins.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Simon Says "Celebrate" - This card was created to CELEBRATE the birthday, life and memory of my sister, Audra.  Please feel free to read my first (top) paragraph for the story of how I choose to CELEBRATE her life.

I am BLESSED to have had Audra in my life, and I will forever CELEBRATE her.

Thanks for stopping by!
Karen
