Creating Art With Bible Verses

Because the Bible is just FILLED with such beautiful, encouraging, helpful words and verses, I absolutely LOVE creating card using Bible Verses as sentiments.  These cards with verses on them can be sent to ANYONE for ANY OCCASION, and are always so encouraging to the recipients.  God's Word just has that effect on people, and blesses and encourages our lives.  These two cards were created using two very different ways of adding scripture (one is digital and the other is a clear acrylic stamp), but they are both so sweet.  I look forward to sending these cards to friends needing encouragement.
This first card was created for the Verve July Diva Inspirations Blog Hop and Challenge.  I already completed the Blog Hop and there were so many AMAZING cards that they inspired me to create a card and enter the challenge as well.  I always LOVE using my Verve Stamps and this one is no exception.  I thought it went really well with the vibe these patterned papers were giving me.
Here's a closer look at the stamped sentiment and the sweet Mulberry Flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon that I used.  I also added some Solid Wheat Baker's Twine and 30mm Green Paper Leaves.  I stamped my sentiment with Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink, and used several other colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks to ink the edges of my patterned papers with coordinating colors.
My second card was created for this week's challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  This scripture verse is a digital file, and is available for free on the Word Art Wednesday Blog.  I printed the scripture onto an ivory Cosmo Cricket paper.  Then, I added small scraps of patterned paper strips (one that I hand-punched with a border punch).  I also added some pearl swirl accent stickers and several more of Really Reasonable Ribbon's sweet Mulberry Flowers and Green Paper Leaves.
Really Reasonable Ribbon is one of the sponsors for the new challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  There's a second prize (a lovely digital prize) which is from The Cutting Cafe, so this is another great week to play along for a chance to win.  You're all welcome to stop by and enter your projects (up to 5 per week) in our challenge there.  We LOVE having you play along with us.

I'm linking my cards in the following challenges (each in the appropriate challenges where they fit the theme), and I love playing along.  Come and check out these fun challenges:

Verve July Diva Inspirations Blog Hop & Challenge - Color/Photo Inspiration - I'm entering the first card (top of page) into this challenge.  I absolutely LOVE these bright colors, and so enjoyed creating this card using a sweet Verve scripture stamp.

Sweet Stamps Blog - July's Anything Goes Challenge - I used an older stamp from my stash (it's from Verve Stamps) on the first card.  I absolutely LOVE stamping on cards.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Fabulous Florals" - Both of my cards have lots of pretty flowers on them.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.
