Hey there, friends! I'm so glad you've stopped by today. I'm sharing two fun cards I made. The first uses some of the cool Crate Paper Journey products I won quite some time ago on the Crate Paper Blog. I've had fun playing with it, and since it has a travel theme to it, I've made a lot of cards with it for one of my older nieces, Brittney, who travels quite a bit. She saves the cards and journals in them which I think is a really cool thing to do.
All I did was take a piece of the patterned paper from the Journey line and add a library pocket and library card to it. Then, I added a wooden embellishment from the set for my sentiment, and added a couple decorative stickers from this set along with a chipboard vintage travel van. Don't you just love the retro vibe of all the cool ephemera elements in this line? They're pretty awesome. Finally, I tied some twine around the card and made a bow to offer a bit of softness and to break up the card a bit. I like it!
Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge Blog - Simon Says "Transport It" - I love this retro van, and it sure looks like a super fun way to "transport it". Doesn't it?

Tuesday Throwdown - Challenge #331 - Favorite Embellishment - I can almost never resist adding some sort of ribbon, twin or trim. It's my favorite embellishment for sure, and it really added a lot to my card.
613 Avenue Create: Challenge #194 - Sentimental Journal/Optional Twist CAS - CAS, Blue, Sentiment - My card (above) has all three of these elements, and I had a lot of fun playing along.
My second card was created using some sweet October Afternoon products. I used two patterned papers, some red rick rack trim, red rick rack sticker, an October Afternoon Kitten journalling card and chipboard sticker. I also added a snippet of ribbon at the top right to cover an ink smudge. LOL Here are the challenges where I'm sharing my Kitty card:
Double D Challenges - Challenge: Rick Rack/Zig Zag - I used both red rick rack trim and a red rick rack sticker. Thanks for another great challenge, Dar and Diane!
Cupcake Inspirations - Challenge #396 - Cats/Kittens Sponsored by Newton's Nook - I had to dig deep to play along, but I really wanted to participate, and so glad I was able to play along.

Both of these are just so cute, Karen. The first one makes me want to throw a surf board on top and hit the waves. The second one reminds me of first grade and how much fun it was.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Karen - love them both - the papers certainly help to make the cards stunning.
