Paint With Us at Secret Garden Crafts

To be perfectly honest with you, I'm not much of a painter.  In fact, I tend to shy away from water coloring and painting challenges because it's just not my area of expertise.  However, this week at Secret Garden Crafts, we were challenged to create something beautiful using a paint brush.  I don't think the idea was really about paint brushes; but rather, it's more about making the point that you can take ANY household item (whether it's a paint brush or an old box, etc.) and by adding a few sweet flowers from Secret Garden Crafts, you can create some beautiful!
I picked up this paint brush several years ago on a clearance sale, and I'd been hanging on to it all this time not knowing why, or having any idea when I would ever use it.  But when I heard that this week's theme was to decorate a paint brush, I knew I'd finally be able to do something with it.

Because this particular paint brush is SUPER long (tall), there was no way I could photograph the entire thing in one shot.  I have a few photos that show the different parts of the (extra long) handle.  I painted the entire handle with cream acrylic paint, and I covered the front with a piece of vintage sheet music by using Mod Podge.  I inked the edges to give it a distressed look.  The rest was easy because Secret Garden Crafts has so many GORGEOUS flowers to help make ANYTHING look lovely!
I added some lace and twine, and attached some Prima sugar-sprinkled letters to spell JOY on the handle.  Down at the bottom, I added some Wild Roses, Light Pink Clay Roses, I also tucked in a Light Green Mulberry Paper Leaf, some lovely Light Pink Double Head Flower Stamens.  I also created a card using another  Light Green Mulberry Paper Leaf, some more of the Light Pink Double Head Flower Stamens, Pink Aster Daisies, and some Wild Roses.  By adding these super sweet flowers from Secret Garden Crafts, you can decorate anything and it will look amazing.
I also created a quick little Christmas Gift Tag to share with you.  I cut the tag with a die-cut, added some seam binding at the top, and placed a matted sentiment sticker at the bottom.  I embellished my tag using some lace and burlap string, a Two-Tone Green and White Fern Mulberry Leaf, and also added two Red English Roses, and one Ivory Open Rose.
We hope that you will stop by the Secret Garden Crafts Blog to see all the fabulous inspiration we have for you; and then be sure to stop by Secret Garden Crafts to do some shopping.  There's a FABULOUS sale right now where you can receive FREE SHIPPING with orders of $20+ which is a great deal, and a perfect time to stock up on these GORGEOUS flowers!
Thanks for stopping by!

25 Days of Christmas Tags - I created this tag (above) with the inspiration I got from Laurie Schmidlin for Birch Press Design on Day 7 where she added lots of sweet flowers to her tag.  She used gorgeous poinsettias, but I just loved the idea of adding soft, sweet flowers to a Christmas tag.  Thanks for the inspiration on this one, Laurie.
