If you're like me, you may have grown up with Nursery Rhymes. My Mom and Dad always read me stories, taught me nursery rhymes, songs, and such. They've been a big part of my life...my whole life. Especially music (songs)...but definitely the Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes and such. Do you any of you remember....
Three little kittens, they lost their mittens
and they began to cry....."Oh, Mother dear,
see here, see here, our mittens we have lost".
You lost your mittens? You naughty kittens.
Then you shall have no pie.
Three little kittens, they found their mittens
and they began to cry....."Oh, Mother dear,
see here, see here, our mittens we have found".
You found your mittens, you darling kittens.
Then you shall have some pie.
Well, when I found this very nursery rhyme on one of my October Afternoon journalling cards, I knew that I wanted to use it to make a card for my sweet niece, Alexa. She LOVES her cats...Van Gogh and Bridget. And no, Van Gogh didn't get his name because he lost an ear (I asked). I knew that I wanted to keep this card as flat as possible so that I could easily mail it. Some of my cards get pretty "lumpy"....LOL. The patterned papers and stickers are also from October Afternoon, I did some machine stitching, a white doily, and the hearts are die-cut using Papertrey Ink's fabulous Heart Prints Die-Cut Set.
My second card also uses October Afternoon patterned papers, is machine stitched, and has a tea-stained doily, a Crate Paper wooden embroidery hoop, a Verve stamped sentiment (Feel Better Soon), and I cut some wool felt flowers and leaves using a fun flower die-cut from My Favorite Things/Die-Namics. I placed some small vintage buttons in the centers of the flowers.
Have a blessed week, and thanks so much for stopping by. These are the fun challenges where I am entering my cards:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Flower Power (card #2)
The Card Concept - Blossoms In Blue (My Second Card) I used a deep blue wool felt to cut my flowers, and I really love the blue!
Dare 2 B Artzy - Pastel Colors - My first card is the pastel card with white, yellow and pinks.

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are adorable, Karen. The three little kittens are so sweet, and the blue felt flowers on the ruler paper really make the second card pop. Great pictures of your cards, too. I love them both.
