Well, hello friends! I've been a little bit "disconnected" lately. I took a trip to Minnesota to see friends and family; and when I returned home, I realized that my computer cord was left behind at my BFF's house. Sooooo.....I had to wait for her to mail it to me; and needless to say, I fell off the blogging planet for a week or so. During that "disconnected" time, I got lots of house work done, made a few cute cards, and spent time with our precious puppy, Belle, and our sweet son, Andrew. He apparently really missed my home cooking. I also celebrated my 53rd Birthday last Monday. My hubby really spoiled me for my birthday this year. You see, I have a deep love for antiques. I've been blessed to buy some lovely pieces and I actually have gotten a few pieces home over the years. However, I've purchased several more antiques (some larger furniture pieces and several smaller pieces that were too big for my suitcase when flying home) that have been accumulating at my BFF's house and my parents' house. Well, I finally get to have my lovely antiques brought back to Las Vegas to enjoy, and I couldn't feel more blessed or more excited. I'll be selling a few things that I picked up very inexpensively, and keeping a few as well. I've gradually been able to replace all the bins and racks in my craft room with antique furniture and antique wooden storage cubbies. These things old, shabby, with peeling paint and worn edges make me happy. I hope to share some photos once I get everything here and organized.
OK....sorry for rambling - let's talk about my card now. I stopped at a Tuesday Morning (store) yesterday and picked up a darling package of patterned papers, journalling cards, and stickers from Echo Park. I used them to create this card, and I really am delighted with these sweet patterns. I machine stitched my papers together and stamped a Verve scripture sentiment on the journalling cad. I added a few sticker flags, some washi tape, and a flower cluster with stamens, burlap strings, Mulberry Leaves, and lovely Mulberry Flowers.
I'm excited to be able to share this card in the following challenges:

Happy birthday! :) Seems that you have had lovely times.
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning and so beautiful, fabulous design and love so much the machine stitching and that flower cluster!
Karen - I am so happy for you to have your antiques in your home! I cannot WAIT to see them some day - how fabulous that crafting room must be with all the worn paint and lovely furniture - totally over the moon cool - and you did housework? What's that??? Yet, I must say, I do home cooking nearly every day - I am not a fan of eating out - another story - happy you had some time with Andrew too - our kids grow up much too fast as you already know soon to be "grandma" [slap me with a wet noodle if I have that incorrect but honestly I think a delight is coming this year as well - just delete this after reading it if you need be - I hope you have a happy crafting adventure - and I wish I lived there because I would be checking out those "cheap" antiques you are planning to sell - have a lovely week - The Lord is soooo good!
ReplyDeleteLovely card and Bible verse. Happy Belated birthday. Sounds like it was made memorable by your loved ones. I can't wait to see some pictures of your antiques. I can't tell you how many antique stores my husband and I have been in. We've had some really good times. Especially when we've found the perfect thing. [Bunny]
