Day 8 of Christmas W/ Paper Sweeties

Welcome, everyone!  As we do each December at Paper Sweeties, we're celebrating the 25 Days of Christmas....one day at a time until Christmas Day.  Today is Day 8 of this special celebration.  I like to take the December 8 post each year because it's a special date of note for me.  You see...on December 8 of 1985, my husband and I gave birth to identical twin sons, Nicholas & Benjamin.  They were stillborn, sadly.  So, this day is always bitter-sweet; and I like to share art on this day to help me keep my mind off the bad memories and focus on the blessings.  There are certainly plenty of blessings that deserve my thoughts today.  Like...my awesome family including hubby, three beautiful children who are all living for the Lord, our healthy new grandson, my darling granddaughter, my dear friends, my BFF of 50+ years, and the list goes on and on.  Despite the painful memories, I know how very blessed I am.  Paper Sweeties is one of those special sweetnesses in life that makes me happy, makes me smile, and gets me feeling creative.  Your hands get busy making cute cards, and soon you forget about your woes.  Creativity is therapeutic and fun!
I made this sweet Christmas card using a few products from Paper Sweeties including the adorable Merry Stamp Set for the sentiment (Believe), and of course the darling Miss Madison.  I colored her with my Copics and cut her out with the Madison Sweet Cut. I also cut the larger tag using the For You Tag Sweet Cuts, and the small tag (twice) using the Stitched Tags #1 Sweet Cuts.  I also used pieces of the patterned papers to cut strips/banners using cuts from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts.
Well of course sweet little Madison needed a cute Christmas outfit, so I decided to put her in her favorite Christmas jammies.  I used the adorable I Love You Stamp Set for her pajamas, slippers, blanket, teddy bear and bunny.  The finishing touches to this card were the Strawberry Sequins, Bubblegum Sequins and Green Apple Sequins at the top of the small tag; and the Sugar Sprinkles Seam Binding bow topped with an inked Red & White Chenille Candy Cane.
There's inspiration on the Paper Sweeties Blog each day this month, so be sure to stop by often.  Every day a different designer will be sharing ADORABLE Paper Sweeties projects.  And if I know Debbie, I'm guessing there will be some special sales and exciting events taking place as well...don't miss out a single day of fun!

Thanks for visiting,
Karen

I'm linking up my Paper Sweeties card in the following challenges:

Mod Squad Challenge - Non-Traditional Christmas Colors/Sponsored by Gina K. - While I did sneak in some red and green here, my primary color is the very non-traditional PINK and touches of light blue (staples, baker's twine).

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Traditional Christmas" - While I may have used a non-traditional color with the pink, I did keep some "Traditional Christmas" elements by incorporating (some) green and red, and also the sweet Christmas pajamas and candy cane.  You can still have a traditional Christmas, even with non-traditional colors.

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #467 - I love Christmas, and always enjoy playing along in Hazel's sweet challenges.  Come, join the fun.

P.S.  Before I forget, I wanted to announce the winner of my second give-away during my time as Guest Designer at The Snippets Playground.  The lucky winner of this fun prize package is Entry #32 - Greta H.  Please email me with your mailing address, Greta.  Congrats and thanks for coming to the Playground.  I hope you will all continue to use up those snippets (paper scraps) and play along in Diane's fun challenges.

AND...Check out the Paper Smooches Blog Hop to see their FAB New Release.  I'm smitten with their new Stitch Builders Die.
