Wonderful Watercolor Fun

Welcome back by, everyone!  I just LOVE having you stop by, and I appreciate it so much.  I've been having fun this week just popping around to different blogs and companies to grab some inspiration.  Let me tell you....I've found plenty of it.  I got SO inspired that I actually got into my craft room and created a few cards that were just for fun - no design team projects; just FUN from all the wonderful inspiration I've seen in the last several days.  WOW, there are so many talented artists out there.

I was inspired by the watercoloring and colors found in the inspiration photo from the Seize The Birthday 200th Challenge, and for this card I was also inspired by the adorable card shared by Lisa B. over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog.  Like I mentioned, there were so many great inspirational cards I saw this week.  I hope you'll check out these fun challenges and see what inspires you.

I started this card with a grey cardstock base, and I used the same to cut a Square Scalloped Frame from Paper Sweeties.  I watercolored onto a piece of white paper and used that to cut the insides of the squares, the tea pot and the tea cups.  I used the You Warm My Heart Stamps and Dies from Paper Sweeties for that.

The (happy birthday) sentiment I stamped on my card is from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.  Because the logo has black print, I used Coal Black Ink to stamp the sentiment.  I also added a few sequins to give my card a bit of sparkle.  Finally, a sweet tie-dyed piece of blue seam binding from DL Art was added to my card.  I love the softness and dimension this adds.  The Stitched Frame Dies I used are from Gina K. Designs, and the patterned paper is from Whimsy Stamps.
If  you're  looking for some FUN challenges, may I suggest that you check out Word Art Wednesday, Seize The Birthday 200th Challenge,  and Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog.  There are so many fun challenges and SO much inspiration out there just waiting for you.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful week.

Blessings,
Karen

As mentioned above, here's where I'm playing along:

Seize The Birthday Challenge Blog - Challenge #200 - As explained above in detail, I was inspired by the water color effect, the gorgeous colors in the logo, the black print, and all the talented DT members and their amazing cards.  I encourage you to stop by and see all the fabulous inspiration and help these talented gals CELEBRATE their 200th challenge (and more to come).

Coffee Loving Cardmakers - Caffeine Fueled Paper Play - Follow Your Heart - I was inspired by Lisa's pretty card.  Grab some coffee, and stop by to check it out.  I used products from Paper Sweeties; which is a sponsor and super sponsor at Coffee Loving Cardmakers.  I also used some seam binding from sponsor, DL Art, and some Gina K Designs, Whimsy Stamps and Stamp Simply Clear Stamps products.
Time Out Challenges - Challenge #171 - Here's how I was inspired....."move over coffee"....really?  I THINK NOT.  I couldn't live without my coffee.  But here's the trick....nobody actually knows what's in my cute little coffee pot and cups, do they?   tee-hee

As You Like It Challenge Blog - Challenge: Favorite - Bright Colors or Pastels - I'd have to say that I used pastels more than I use brights.  I think my reason for this is that I love the softness of pastels, and when I buy supplies, I tend to be drawn more to pastels than to bright colors.  Don't get me wrong, they're both great but for me....pastels.

  8. People are very loyal and serious about their coffee. I don't drink coffee or tea myself but love the smell. I'm sure you have coffee in your cups (wink, wink). Love the colours you used and the way you coloured the pot and cups. And the blue bow is such a cool embellishment, the colour is stunning. So very glad you shared this with us at TIME OUT!
