As some of you already know, I've started posting cards on Instagram. It's still fairly new to me, but it seems to be the up-and-coming place to post our art. I'm still rather "old school" and enjoy my blog, keeping my blog, and visiting other blogs. It just seems a bit more personal to me. However, trends say that people like to see things all in one place. So, what do I know? lol
The title of my blog post today should give you an idea as to why I'm posting. I recently won an Instagram Hop sponsored by Brass & Bliss Craft Co. I do love their products, and I was blessed and excited when I learned that I had won the $50 prize. I chose their Dot Dash Nested Rectangle Dies, Freehand Frame Stamp Set and Candles With Layers Dies.
There was a sample card by DT Member, Kendra Sand using these darling Candles With Layers Dies that totally inspired me when creating my card. I used the Dot Dash Rectangle Dies to cut a white layer that I attached to black cardstock. I cut the next size of the Dot Dash Rectangle Dies to cut a piece of vellum that I placed over sequins to create a shaker element. What I quickly realized is that I don't have a Birthday sentiment from Blass & Bliss Craft Co. so I had to go another route for a sentiment.
I used yet another size rectangle from the Dot Dash Rectangle Dies to cut a matching tag. On the card, I added a sentiment using a Happy Birthday stamp set from Paper Sweeties, and I cut it with a Fishtail Banner Die. Lots of colorful Baker's Twine at the top of my tag and at the bottom of my card served as the finishing touches on each.
Thanks so much for stopping by today to take a peek at my project using fun new goodies that I was BLESSED to WIN. I hope that you take some time to join some Blog Hops, Instagram Hops and Challenges for your chance to WIN some awesome prizes.
Colorful Options Challenge - February: I went with the RAINBOW option for this entry.
Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge #2505 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Bright & Cheerful - I just LOVE using bright cheery colors and this card/tag set was a lot of fun to make.
Paper Funday Challenge - Challenge #73 - Anything Goes - I didn't use the optional twist on this entry.
TIME OUT Challenge #281 - Pick Two: For this card, I chose Layers (lots of paper layers) and the shaker element, Warm (because candles are literally warm from the fire) and my card is heart-warming, Love (for the birthday girl), Stitch (faux) with the Dot/Dash Die, and finally "Food" but you can't actually see the cake that these candles are atop. lol (But the two literal elements I incorporated were Layers and Warm)
Blessings,
Karen
