New Release Time at Joy Clair

Welcome, friends!  Today is an exciting day for me because this is my first official blog post as a new member of the Joy Clair Design Team.  Today we begin to release the FABULOUS new stamp sets that will be available for sale at Joy Clair starting on Friday, January 18.  There will be lots of fabulous inspiration every day as the new stamps are being featured and released.  The card I'm sharing today uses the ADORABLE new set called Rise & Shine.  Oh my heart, this set is darling.
I used some patterned papers that I inked and machine stitched together.  At the very bottom of my card, I added a cute little sticker.  I stamped the rooster from the Rise & Shine stamp set twice.  The first time, I stamped it the regular way in black and I colored it with my Copics.  The second time, I stamped the rooster backwards.  Did you know that you can reverse a stamp?  Yes, it's true.  I stamped the image (using my Misti) onto a small clear piece of acetate with a wet ink.  Then you lift the acetate and place it onto a piece of paper and lightly rub the ink onto the paper creating the reverse image.  I colored the second rooster with my Copics using slightly different colors.
The sentiment was stamped onto a small oval piece of patterned paper, inked, and placed on the card using 3-D foam tape to give it some dimension.  Next, I stamped the morning sunrise and attached that behind the sentiment.  This Rise & Shine Stamp Set is so much fun to work with, and I know I will be using it a lot.
I decided to make a very simple bookmark (seen below) to tuck inside this card.  I simply attached two different colors of cardstock (dark brown and ivory) and I used my gellatos to create the background.  Next, I stamped my images (with the exception of the rooster) onto the cardstock and colored them with my Copics.  For the rooster, I stamped him in black ink onto basic white cardstock, colored him with my Copics, fussy cut him out with my scissors; and glued him to the bottom of the bookmark.  The rooster, the sunrise, and this sentiment (His Mercies Are New Every Morning) are all from the lovely new Rise & Shine Stamp Set.  I absolutely LOVE every sentiment in this sweet new set.
I also stamped a matching envelope for this card.  Did you know that Joy Clair also carries lots of amazing Custom Stamps?  I purchased two adorable return address label stamps (the Frye's and Valentine's) from Joy Clair long before I was on the Design Team, and I absolutely LOVE them.  They make my envelopes look Oh, SO cute!  Check out all the awesome Custom Stamps available at Joy Clair (they have SO many cute choices that you can have customized with your family/name) - you will LOVE the selection., and they're very affordable at just $15 each.
I hope you'll stop back by tomorrow when I share another card using a different sweet new stamp set from the Joy Clair New Release.  You really won't want to miss a thing.  There's also a fun challenge taking place on the Joy Clair Blog.  We love it when you stop by to say hello and do some shopping, and you really will love your new Joy Clair stamps.

Thanks again for visiting,
Karen
