It's a beautiful sunny day here in Las Vegas, Nevada. But then again, most every summer day is beautiful and sunny here. Despite the high temps, there was just enough of a breeze out there this morning to interfere with my photographing my cards. It's so frustrating when you just can't get them to hold still. Kind of like photographing small children. Well, I did the best I could; and am still working with a borrowed camera.
I made this card for my Design Team work this week at Word Art Wednesday, but had to change out the scripture because of a type-o. I apologize for that. I have recently become aware of some of the little mistakes that people just love to email and point out to me. We're working on becoming more aware of the mistakes before we post the files. Please know that we are human, and everyone makes mistakes. We just feel blessed to share these beautiful scripture files with you each week, and appreciate your patience as we work out the glitches.
I'm sharing this card in the following challenges:
http://www.papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/2012/06/sketch-69.html - Paper Take Weekly - Sketch #69 by Dawny P. This is a darling sketch, and I'm sure you would LOVE to play along.
http://www.simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2012/06/simon-sayssporty-and-or-patriotic.html - Simon Says Stamp/Sporty And/Or Patriotic - Since I used primarily red, white and blue (with a little green), I decided to call it Patriotic. Besides that, nothing is more patriotic than scripture since our awesome country was founded on the principles of the Bible.
http://www.simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com/2012/06/challenge-depth-of-distress.html - Simon Says Stamp and Show Depth of Distress - I inked everything with my Tim Holtz distress inks. I love that grungy/dirty look.
Thanks for stopping by today. I've been busy working on some cards for a new challenge blog I'm getting involved with, and I will be posting my first challenge information here this Tuesday. I hope you will all stop by and play along. More details on Tuesday - I promise.
Praising God for this beautiful Sunny Saturday,
Karen
What a BEAUTIFUL card! I love the colors, textures, and the verse you used! All of your creations turn out so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour card is very feminine, vintagy, and beautiful as usual. Your comparison between photographing children and cards made me laugh, because I know exactly what you mean. As to mistakes, just tell people what I tell my students, only God is perfect. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Karen, and don't sweat the small stuff. Some people are natural born editors, and they just can't help themselves . . . some of us, on the other hand, just shrug and think,
ReplyDelete"Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one!"
:)
Beautiful card, Karen. I like the colour combination and how you have used the different strips of paper. Sue x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, beautiful scripture!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card! I really like the way you made that frame from patterned paper--it looks great! And the combination of colors, patterns, and laces is so pretty--everything goes perfectly together!
ReplyDeleteKaren, your card is beautiful!! I need to be more diligent in reading the word art as well. Even after you mentioned the typo, it took me about 15 minutes until I actually found it. When we know the scripture, I think our brains automatically read what we know it to be, not what we actually see. Some people find joy in pointing out other's mistakes. My prayer is that WAW helps them know true joy, the joy that comes from God.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the crisp clean colours you have used on this card, Karen. Now I will have to go and see where the mistake is - I am appalling with spelling and the like, so I doubt if I would ever pick it up if you had not mentioned it!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
