Of all the MANY scrapbook items that I absolutely LOVE, and all the gorgeous lines out there from oodles of awesome companies, one of my ALL TIME favorites is still October Afternoon. I own SO MUCH of this adorable company's products, and I still feel that I would LOVE to own every single bit of it (greedy, I know - shame on me!) It's just the most adorable company with so many delightful embellishments, and the best part is that most of the different October Afternoon lines can be combined; and being able to mix and match really helps all that cuteness go even further. I just LOVE it all. The second piece of patterned paper (cream and blue stripe ledger paper) is Cosmo Cricket. Then for the other layers, I used several different patterned papers from various October Afternoon lines, as well as some October Afternoon journaling stickers and chipboard, some washi tapes, Recollections flowers, seam binding bow with baker's twine and Making Memories ribbon, machine stiching, and the pocket of this Kraft Card Sleeve Envelope from The Kraft Outlet holds a little Making Memories tag with journaling and a date sticker).
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Vintage Challenge Blog: A Little Paper - this card was made using patterned papers from several different 6x6 October Afternoon paper pads, along with small scraps of paper from my October Afternoon stash.
The Play Date Café - Vintage Retro Influences - Inspiration Color/Retro Photo (Maroon, Poppy and Jade)
Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge Blog - Challenge #72 - Red, White & Blue
Chocolate, Coffee Cards Challenge Blog - Challenge #39 - Use a Number - Do you see the numbers on my washi tape? (top right of card)
Great Impressions Stamps Challenge Blog - May Challenge - Celebrations! This birthday card is going to my friend, Mary. We've been friends for 24 years. Mary had a kidney transplant (praise God that she found a donor!)...and last week, she finally had her native kidneys removed. I've tucked some goodies in the pockets for her! I still don't have any Great Impressions stamps, but still love to play along in hopes of winning! And yes, this is a true CELEBRATION that Mary is around to celebrate many more happy birthdays because of a generous donor who (along with God's grace) saved her life!
I'm so grad you stopped by today, and hope that you all had a blessed Lord's Day. We enjoyed a day at church and out for lunch which is the first time we've all (all five of us including Lily being home from Bible College) been together to do that, so it was really nice! I just love it when all my babies are tucked in their own beds under our roof (where they belong until they're at least 40...lol).
Thanks again for peeking, and I will see some of you again tomorrow for my Monday morning posts. Until then, keep counting your blessings!

ReplyDeleteThis is so cute, Karen! I love October Afternoon as well, and this is such a great way to combine their awesome stickers and papers together. You just can't go wrong with their cute papers and embellishments and you did a great job! I have to "pin" this to my October Afternoon board. Thanks for sharing this awesome card.

Lovely card Karen - lots of details, and I love the flowers in the middle of the bow. I too love it when I have family home, but it seems we visit them more than they visit us at the moment :-)

ReplyDeleteOctober Afternoon makes great papers, don't they? Your card is so cute, Karen. I really like the many different papers you've layered, die cut and stitched to create such a nice design. What a wonderful way to spend a day...with all of your babies together at home again! Isn't it sad that they all have to grow up and move out at some point? But, my babies have their own babies now and grandchildren are a whole lot of fun! Have a blessed week and thanks for sharing your card with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
