It's hard to believe that I've already been at my best friend's house for over two weeks, and that today is the day we have to call it quits (at least for now). Let me tell you, it went by SO fast! We look forward to this time all year long; and it was nothing less than fabulous. I've been praising God all night long, and I mean that quite literally. I stayed up past 2:30 AM, and I was awake by 6:00 AM with a few wake-ups in between - just praising God and thanking Him for this wonderful time and for all the blessings in my life. I'm so grateful for it all, but also still feeling rather bitter-sweet about saying goodbye again (even for now). We will already start looking forward to, and planning, having her come to see me in Nevada just as soon as possible. Before I leave, I wanted to share a couple more of the cards we made together. I will share some more of our mini books once I get home, but I still have ten days at my Mom's house up north before then.
This first card was inspired by the new "Cherry Pie" challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. You can click the link below to take you directly to their challenge so that you can see the inspiration photo. It called for cream or white, red, aqua, and touches of twine and/or burlap. I used all of the above and was SO inspired by it all (especially the vintage inspiration photo). I used October Afternoon patterned papers, an Emma's Shoppe journaling card (cherry), some vintage trims, aqua baker's twine, a vintage cream doily, machine stitching, bits of cream burlap, some touches of red acrylic paint, an October Afternoon journaling sticker (printed through the computer), and a cherry gem brad. Here is the link to their challenge:

This second card was inspired by the current challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog where the current cupcake inspiration is to use Kelly Green, Lemon Yellow and Rose Pink. I got out some patterned papers and embellishments in these three lovely colors from their inspiration photo and got busy. This is what I created, and it's almost all from October Afternoon.

For those of you who are wondering, I didn't share my Word Art Wednesday card in a blog post this week because the photograph is SO light and the scripture doesn't show well at all. I apologize for not sharing it again here, but I really do hope that you will ALL stop by to play along in our challenge this week over at Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog.
Thanks for stopping on by today to say hello, and I hope to visit you all at your blogs this week. Have a blessed day!
Karen
