This week at Word Art Wednesday, we have two BEAUTIFUL pieces of free word art for you from the lovely Daydream Designs. One is a wonderful piece of scripture from the Book of Job, and the other is a coordinating sentiment from their Shine Like Stars Collection. I made two projects for this week's post - a card using the scripture, and a coordinating tag using the sentiment. I'm giving this as a gift, and will tuck the tag into the card when I give it so that the tag can be used as a book mark. It's always nice to make a matching tag to tuck inside a hand-made card. That way, you're surprising the recipient with a sweet little gift when you send a card. The many lovely sets at Daydream Designs make this super easy to do, and lots of fun too.
Some of you have commented about my detailed descriptions of the supplies I use to create my projects. Please know that, for me, this is very easy. I'm very aware of the brands I use, and I feel that it's only appropriate to acknowledge the companies whose products I use to create. I enjoy listing them, and helping people find the things I've used. For my card, I started with a Small Lunch Bag Kraft Notecard from the Kraft Outlet. Next, I took a piece of black Bazzill cardstock and machine stitched on an October Afternoon patterned paper from their 5 & Dime collection, as well as some vintage sheet music. I liked how the stars and music perfectly fit with the scripture. I die-cut an angel and stamped it in Tim Holtz Barn Door Red ink using my Papertrey Ink ide-cut and stamps. I glittered her wings to make them sparkle, and tucked her behind the sheet of vellum on which my scripture is printed. I used an October Afternoon red music border and a Papertrey Ink star border (cut from Prairie Point Junction wool felt) for the bottom, as well as a seam binding bow, glittered button, and May Arts jute.
The coordinating tag is made from all the same supplies as listed above. In addition, I used a Grunge Prim Shipping Tag as my base, and I also used some chipboard stars that I painted with acrylic paint and glittered.
I'm sharing my projects in the following challenges this week:
Twist Of Faith Card Challenge Blog - Challenge #70 - New Beginnings/Anything Goes
Red Carpet Studio - Challenge #60 - New Year's - Use Something New - I used two new digital images from Daydream Designs, and my new star die-cut to create this matching card and tag set.
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - Wednesday Challenge - Bling It On! I glittered my angel's wings for the BLING!
Creative Card Crew - Challenge #52 - Anything Goes
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my projects, and I hope that you will stop by to play along in our challenge this week. We have two great sponsors again this week - a brand new sponsor to us for 2014, Loves Rubber Stamps. They are offering one lucky winner a $10 Gift Certificate; and Milk Coffee Digital Stamps is offering another lucky winner five (5) darling images of their choice. Great prizes as always! You can share up to five (5) projects per week to increase your odds of winning. I look forward to having you play along with us.

I forgot all about my vellum paper that I've had over the years. I like the way you used them. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWonderful creations, love the star DP and Bible scripture. Thank you so much for your prayers. I can feel the Lord moving in my life these 2 days. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteLovely projects Karen~the colors are beautiful! I agree about knowing your supplies. After awhile, the supplies are almost like "old friends" in a way...we know them by name! It IS nice to name them, though, for those that have just "met" them here. ;) Have a wonderful New Year friend~and thank you for your encouraging spirit and comments each week.
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely card and bookmark Karen - love your colour choices!!
