Despite the fact that I haven't had my latte yet this morning, I'm having a great day. I got to spend some quality time with my hubby, and now I'm snuggled on the couch with my favorite blanket. When I finish making this post, I'm headed to Starbucks for my coffee so that I can truly get myself in high gear for the day. And yes, I realize it's after 10:30 AM here....LOL
I created this card for this week's challenge at Word Art Wednesday. We have a FUN challenge every week at Word Art Wednesday. It's always Anything Goes/Family Friendly, and we always have FABULOUS prizes. This week, you can win a $25 Gift Certificate to The Flying Unicorn and a digital prize from The Cutting Cafe. It's always more fun when everyone plays along, so please be sure to stop by and link up ALL your projects with us this week for your chance to win.
I'm also sharing this sweet tag that I created using lots of great Crate Paper Craft Market products. This line is SO yummy. I created this tag based on one that Melissa Phillips had posted on her blog some time back, and also has on Pinterest. While it's perfectly fine to "lift" other people's art, it's very important to always give credit where credit is due. I must say that Melissa's art often inspires me. I just LOVE it!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and don't forget to visit Word Art Wednesday to play along with us. I look forward to seeing everything you create this week!
Blessings,
Karen
P.S. I'm linking my projects here:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Tag It"
Simon Says Stamp - Work It Wednesday - Holiday Card - I just LOVE making scripture cards for Christmas.
The Card Concept Challenge Blog - Challenge #45 - I used clean and layered as my inspiration, and I was also very drawn to the snowflakes using the blues and whites as shown in the sample.
Cupcake Inspirations #339 - Let It Snow - My card has lots of snowflakes on it (very subtle background). I really like these soft blue and white hues for Christmas, snowflakes, and the sweet vellum and jingle bells to give it a wintery snow affect.
Give yourself credit......you have your very own beautiful style! I can always tell a "karen" card. I too am having issues getting going....wish I had a starbucks...I am out in boonies! Hugs, cherry
ReplyDeleteGlad today is off to a great start and a happier note. Sounds perfectly delightful to snuggle all morning, and the coffee can wait. (just not too long!) Have a fabulous day and I really love these creations. The vellum is so pretty on your WAW card! I haven't tried printing on vellum. And the tag is beautiful, Melissa herself couldn't have done it any better! Hugs, Autumn
ReplyDeleteBoth Creations are lovely Karen - I have doing some lifting myself - enjoy your Coffee! I make mine homemade - blessings -Gail
ReplyDeleteHello Karen! Love your card and tag, they are both so beautiful. I know what you mean about getting going in the morning, I just have to have my cup of tea. It was so nice hearing from you (it has been a long time). I have a new granddaughter, Ruby. She will be 5 months old later this month (she is already cutting her two bottom front teeth. I went to see her the end of September. She is so beautiful and the best baby ever! Thank you for your very kind and sweet comments, it is always nice to hear from you.

I like both projects, but I'm particularly smitten by your tag. It's got so many interesting details and they all fit perfectly into your composition. I haven't had much time to sit on the couch an sip coffee, so I'm truly looking forward to my Christmas break. Blessings to you and your family, my dear friend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects Karen - your card is gorgeous, and I think the tag is wonderful - all those layers, and yet it still looks uncluttered and so striking.
