If I really could go "home for the holidays" (and by that, I mean back to Mom and Dad's house where I grew up), one thing I know for sure that I could count one is.......COFFEE! This is how I became a coffee lover. My Mom and Dad did it to me.......LOL My Mom has a fresh pot of coffee brewing every morning before I've even thought about getting out of bed, and a second pot brewing by the time I actually do. And what's more, Mom shares my love for Starbucks. So, we always find our way there during the early part of the day. However, I'm not heading home for the holidays. SO.....I will make do with the coffee I have right here, and I am fine with that.
This card was made using more of the same Simple Stories patterned papers and stickers. I've been using them a lot this weekend. I machine stitched someof them together, inked the edges, and then added a seam binding bow with some more of the Gold Metallic String, a gold frame from Heidi Swapp, and my favorite touch (a small antique button in the center of the bow). I really like the touches of gold.
I will be sharing my card in some challenges. I hope that you all will check out these fun challenges, as well as the one this week at Word Art Wednesday. We would LOVE to have you play along with us there, and I know these great challenge blogs would enjoy your participation as well.
Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog - Challenge Week #391 - This sketch is simple and fun. I hope you will come play along!
DRS Designs Challenge Blog - Challenge #204 - Silver and Gold - I used lots of gold on this card including a gold glittered frame with gold metallic string tied around it, a bow with gold metallic string, and a gold vintage button in the center of my bow. Gold (and silver) accents are SO pretty.

ReplyDeleteI love the colors on your card, Karen. I'm a traditional colors kinda girl. :) Your bow is, as always, gorgeous! I definitely need lessons from you on making them. I also really enjoyed hearing the memories of visiting your parents. My mom loved her coffee too. However, Starbucks wasn't in our part of the country during her lifetime so what she made at home was greatly enjoyed. Thanks for the memory jog - I've enjoyed that brief trip down Memory Lane thinking of her this morning. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
