Hello again, and thank you so much for stopping by. I'm posting a cute little card I made this morning using some of much-loved, safely hoarded, obsessed-over, delightful Emma's Shoppe line by Crate Paper. This line has always been one that I cherished, but now that it's nearly impossible to replace any of it, it has become even more precious. I had "Pinned" this card quite some time ago, always wanted to re-create it, and finally this morning......I did!
Dawn McVey is the original designer of this card's concept. I found her card on Pinterest, and I "scraplifted" pretty much everything, and there are only a few minor differences in our cards. First, mine is crooked (as my cards usually are because I don't ever measure anything); Second, I added a width of Ivory Seam Binding just above the border, and the last difference is the sentiment stamp I used (and ink color for stamping it). Dawn used a stamp I can't identify, and stamped it in teal ink. I used a retired sentiment stamp from Paper Sweeties, and I used Black Soot Distress Ink to stamp mine. Very minor differences, indeed. When a design is this adorable, why change it up? Thank you for the inspiration on this one, Dawn McVey, if you ever see this (YOU ROCK). I absolutely LOVE Pinterest for this very reason.
I used an ivory cardstock base, added a piece of patterned paper, and then added all the border embellishments which include a piece of Ivory Seam Binding, and stickers, border stickers, and pieces of chipboard from the lovely Emma's Shoppe collection complete this sweet little card. As I mentioned, I stamped a retired Paper Sweeties sentiment (Love You) on my journalling sticker. It's a very simple, but super sweet card. I'm not sure just who I'm sending this one to quite yet.
Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteA lovely card Karen - I rarely go over the edges as you have with this card because of the envelope size needed...
