Welcome by today, everyone! Today is the first of the month, and time for a brand new and SUPER FUN challenge over at Paper Sweeties. There are so many fabulous new stamp sets and dies (Sweet Cuts) in the Paper Sweeties Shop to enjoy, and this month again...we will release more sweetness by way of another new stamp set, and another new sweet set of coordinating Sweet Cuts. Be sure to stop back July 14-16 for the Release Party. But for now....let's get to this fun new challenge.
You can use this inspiration photo to inspire you in any way you can possibly imagine. In fact, your card doesn't necessarily have to use Paper Sweeties products or even be patriotic for that matter. Let the colors, textures, and emotion guide you to create something for the challenge. Oh, and PLEASE don't forget to do some window shopping. You will be DELIGHTED with what you find!
The inspiration photo excited and challenged me to create this card using some Paper Sweeties goodies. You see, I don't actually own any "patriotic" Paper Sweeties products yet, so I had to get really creative on this one. I used two Red and White Striped Chanille Candy Canes that I cut and topped with some cut silver baker's twine, and a few "explosions" cut from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts in silver, white and navy papers. The make-shift firecrackers are sitting on a vellum strip that is also cut using a sweet journalling strip from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts, and I inked all the paper edges with red ink.
The sentiment (Cheers! Cheers! Cheers!) is from the Rah-Rah Stamp Set, and I stamped it three times in a row onto a vellum sentiment flag cut from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts, and again inked with red ink. I stamped it three times because, after all.....CHEERS to the USA! Here's the complete list of all my creative friends who are sharing some Paper Sweeties inspiration today:
