DRS Designs Visits Word Art Wednesday

Welcome by my blog today, everyone!  Today is the start of another one of our FUN, FAB two-week Anything Goes/Family Friendly challenges over at Word Art Wednesday; and this time, we're sponsored by DRS Designs.  One person who plays along will be randomly drawn to receive a $20 gift voucher to DRS Designs to spend on some new stamps.  How fun is that?  And...there's a second DRS prize up for grabs.  Just see the Word Art Wednesday challenge for details.  This fun Berry Wreath Stamp will be given away in addition to the $20 gift card.
I sure had FUN playing and creating with my new DRS Designs stamps.  They're so versatile and can be used for backgrounds or as focal images.  Here's what I came up with to share with y'all today.  I used a piece of plain old white cardstock and I inked it (using a slow circular motion) with various light pink inks to create my background color.  Next, I sent that piece of paper for a ride through my printer so that I could print out this week's (free) digital scripture file.  I carefully stamped the background of this piece using the Splatter Background several times in both hot pink and fog grey inks.  I absolutely LOVE the splatter look it gave my card.  And finally, I cut that white (now pink) piece of paper using a Gina Marie rectangular die-cut.
The next step was to attach a white (also inked) piece of watercolor paper, and finally a piece of grey cardstock.  I attached all the papers together and stamped the Brushed Pussy Willows all around the edges so that you'd be able to see them once I covered this with the sentiment area (described above).  I used some Perfect Pearls in a light metallic pink to paint some of the pussy willows just to give them that fun shimmer.  And yes, I do completely realize that Pussy Willows are white and puffy, not pink and shiny.  But I guess that's part of the fun and beauty of art as it allows you to let your imagination run wild.  No limits or rules in art, right?
I wrapped some Grey Baker's Twine around my card, and added some rolled paper flowers, Stamens, Ivory Burlap String, and a rusty safety pin (in flower cluster) and rusty paper clip (top left).  You know me...I can never leave well enough alone (and my card really was already quite lovely without the floral/extras at the bottom; but I seem to always have that urge to add more, and more, and then...just a tad more.  Here's a closer look at the two DRS stamps I used today:

Thanks for stopping by to take a little peek at my card.  I really do hope that you'll stop by Word Art Wednesday to link up your cards with us for a chance to win the $20 DRS Designs gift prize.  I always enjoy seeing your creativity.  Have a great one.

Blessings,
Karen
