It's WAW 5th Annual Christmas Blog Hop Time

Hurray!  Are you ready for FUN and PRIZES?  Well, if so; you're in the right place because it's time for the 5th Annual Christmas Blog Hop at Word Art Wednesday and I'm SO glad you've chosen to join us.  We have lots of fabulous prizes up for grabs including TWO $25 Gift Cards to Unity Stamps and a prize package at each blog along the way.  The prizes you see on each blog (there are six blog stops in total) are the prizes for which you'll be entered to win by leaving a comment on that blog.  You should have arrived here by way of Natalie's Blog.  You can always get started and caught up by visiting Word Art Wednesday.
For this card, I used kraft cardstock and a piece of polka dot patterned paper from my super old stash.  I printed the scripture onto that patterned paper and cut the layers using a Postage Die.  I added a length of May Arts Brown Stitched Canvas Ribbon to my card.  Next, I added some bundled up Natural Burlap String topped with some wool felt leaves and rusty jingle bells.
You can get all the beautiful word art/scripture files for FREE by visiting us at Word Art Wednesday.  You can also play along in our challenges where we're blessed to have AWESOME Sponsors/Prizes.  Like I mentioned earlier, we have TWO $25 Gift Cards to Unity Stamps being offered as prizes for this challenge.  Here's a photo of the prizes being offered here on my blog.  Just leave me a comment to be entered for this FABULOUS prize of three stamp sets from Stamp Simply.
This is the final stop on the Blog Hop, and I hope you've enjoyed yourself.  If you've left a comment on each blog, you're now entered and eligible to WIN a whole lot of fabulous prizes.  We're so glad you've joined us.  Now, just be sure to enter your cards in the Word Art Wednesday gallery to be entered to win one of the TWO $25 prizes to Unity Stamps.
Happy crafting, everyone.  I'm always delighted to have you stop by to take a peek at my cards and say hello.  I look forward to visiting your blog when you leave a comment and enter our challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  Have a blessed and creative week, my sweet friends.  I appreciate you very much.

I'm sharing my card here:

Trinity Stamps Sponsors Word Art Wednesday

Hi friends and welcome by today.  You know, I've been running the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog for well over ten years now.  I've come across some truly amazing business owners during those years, and I've seen these awesome business owners generously support our challenge blog and our crafting community.  However, I have to tell you that it's not very often (although it does happen) where a sponsor offers up a $50 prize.  Well, get ready for an AWESOME prize at a FUN challenge blog because Trinity Stamps is offering a $50 gift code to one lucky participant.  That's amazing.
Another very generous thing Trinity Stamps did for our Design Team was to offer us a discount to purchase some of their wonderful products so that we could showcase them for you.  I really do hope you will take a moment to check out this fun store.  Because I own and manage Word Art Wednesday, I can't (won't) play along as it just wouldn't be right in my opinion. But, WOW, this prize is awesome.  It drives me nuts when (one in particular) challenges are held and the Design Team Members end up winning all the best prizes.  That's not right, either!  I answer to God, so my intentions are different than that.  Let's just leave it there.
I took this close-up photo so that you see the sweet products from Trinity Stamps  I used their Tiny Donut Dipper Die Set to cut my donuts from light kraft cardstock.  The sprinkles are also found in this die set and were cut from pink glittery paper.  I also added sprinkles to the donuts, and my card, by way of the sweet Opaque Confetti Pieces.  They come in every color of the rainbow (and more), but I used the Carnation and Marine Dream Opaque Confetti Pieces on my card.
The sentiment I used was stamped with varying shades of pink oxide ink using the Sprinkles on My Cupcake Stamp Set.  I love the BIG sentiment and Trinity Stamps has oodles of fabulous sentiments, images, and crafting goodies galore.  You won't want to miss out on your chance at this FABULOUS $50 Gift Code to spend at Trinity Stamps.  Thanks for stopping by today, and happy crafting.  Come play with us at Word Art Wednesday.

I'm sharing my yummy donut card in the following challenges:

Come Play Along With Us

In my humble opinion, Word Art Wednesday is the BEST challenge blog in the crafting community.  Now, I'll admit that I'm bias because I've been running this challenge blog for well over eleven years and I've seen it grow from a very small group of crafters to now having hundreds of entries from all around the world.  It's sure been a blessing to watch as God allowed Word Art Wednesday to grow into what it is today.
I used several different Crate Paper patterned paper scraps to create my base.  I used the Swet 'N Sassy Stamps Scalloped Border Dies to cut the border strips. The greenery was cut using a Tim Holtz Die and the paper was rubbed with Tim Holtz Mowed Grass Oxide Ink. The tiny flowers with leaves are a die-cut from Paper Sweeties, I added a few sequins, some vintage scotch tape, and the journalling spot was cut using a darling circle heart die-cut from Papertrey Ink.
Our sponsor for this challenge at Word Art Wednesday is the one and only Stamps of Life.  They're offering up a generous $25 gift card to one lucky person who plays along in our challenge. That could be YOU, but only if you head over to Word Art Wednesday to share your art with us.  The entire year of Sponsors can be found on the Word Art Wednesday Sponsor Calendar Page.  You'll be amazed at our list of sponsors and prizes.  God is SO good.  I sure hope you do come share your art with us.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Top Flight Stamps & Word Art Wednesday

Yes!  That's right.  The wonderful Top Flight Stamps is sponsoring our challenge at Word Art Wednesday, and we would love to have you come play along with us for a chance to win this fabulous prize.
I don't happen to own any of their stamps yet, so I used some other fun products that I thought would frame and highlight this beautiful scripture from Psalms.  I rubbed Tim Holtz Oxide Inks on the scripture, the frame, and the circles.  The background is hand stamped using a fun new favorite of mine from Blank Page Muse.  The frame is from Taylored Expressions, and the circle dies are from Simon Says Stamp.
I've really been loving these bright colors lately....Citron, Lemonade, Kitsch, Speckled Egg, Concord Grape, Pumpkin and Spun Sugar.  They're all so pretty and fun.  I haven't met one of these wonderful inks that I haven't loved.  Anyway, that's how I came up with my bright, colorful and fun card to showcase this wonderful scripture from God's Word.
Please stop by Word Art Wednesday to play along with us for your chance to WIN a wonderful prize from Top Flight Stamps.  It's always more fun when you can join us.  Have a great week, everyone.

Blessings,
Karen

New Challenge at Word Art Wednesday

The challenges at Word Art Wednesday are always FUN and exciting.  And for this particular new challenge, we have the fabulous Stamp Simply Clear Stamps as our sponsor, and they're offering our lucky random winner a $25 gift card.  This awesome store has the most amazing stamps for every occasion, die cuts, and so much more.  I sure hope that you'll come by WAW and share your cards in our challenge.  You can link up ANYTHING Family Friendly.  I hope you'll join us.  I really do.
I didn't use any of my Stamp Simply products on this card.  Since I don't have a printer, my blog friend, Dottie, sent me the printed scriptures.  I used them to quickly create some cards last night.  To be totally honest, I didn't even look at my 2024 Sponsor Calendar before making these cards last night.  So that means my January Word Art Wednesday cards won't have sponsor products on them.  I was just really excited to be able to make cards to share since I don't normally get to do so.  Thanks for your help, Dottie.
My card was created using a peacock blue cardstock base and white cardstocks that I rubbed with oxide inks and pressure embossed with an embossing folder.  I love the colors.  These ribbons are very old/stash items.  They green trim is made of felt, it's stitched (which I covered), and it's scalloped.  Darling.  The polka dot trim is canvas with felt polka dots.  Also darling.  I wished more of it was showing.
Yes, what a very simple card.  Sometimes you need to remember to keep it simple and trust yourself.  I hope you have a very creative and blessed week.  Please come share your art with us at Word Art Wednesday.  You could be the lucky WINNER of our challenge.  Thanks again for stopping by my blog today.  I'm so grateful.

I'll be sharing my card here:

Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge - Anything Goes - I used a cool lined/dotted embossing folder on each of my three layers.  I obviously took the Anything Goes option.  LOL

My Favorite Things Sponsors Word Art Wednesday

yes, Yes, YES!!  The one and only, much loved, My Favorite Things is sponsoring the new challenge starting today over at Word Art Wednesday.  One lucky person will WIN a generous $20 gift certificate from our friends over at My Favorite Things.  This adorable store carries the sweetest high-quality stamps, dies, stencils and so much more with their own very unique signature style.  As the Owner/Administrator of this fabulous challenge blog, I'm always honored and delighted to have y'all come play along with us at Word Art Wednesday and I appreciate you for it more than you'll ever really know.
I used kraft cardstock and some pretty patterned papers from the Craft Consortium Bright Blooms 6x6 Paper Pad and I machine stitched them all together to create my fun card base.  The scripture was cut out using a stitched circle die-cut from Gina K. Designs.  I bundled up some Natural Burlap String to place underneath each of my flowers.  The flowers were cut from wool felt using My Favorite Things/Die-Namics rolled flower dies.  I placed some tiny floral prills inside the centers of the flowers.  Sadly, I think these rolled flower dies (I own several) are now retired, but I still love them.
These patterned papers are so pretty, and they really made a lovely base for my simple card.  I tried to match the green wool felt for the leaves with the same shade of green in the patterned paper used on my card base.  The finishing touch on my card was a miniature rusty paperclip.  I just wanted to keep the main focus of this card the scripture sentiment.  It's a FREE download at Word Art Wednesday, and while you don't have to use it in order to play along with us, it's there if you want it.  I do hope you'll stop by to share your art with us for your chance to WIN this fabulous prize from My Favorite Things.
Whatever you're creating this week, it would be greatly appreciated if you'd consider stopping by Word Art Wednesday to link it up with us.  We always enjoy having you play along with us and we consider it a blessing and a privilege to see your wonderful creativity linked in our gallery.  Happy crafting, friends.

I'm sharing my card here:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Celebrate Summer" - I can't think of anything prettier than FLOWERS to say Happy Summer, everyone.

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge Blog - Challenge #2330 - Photo Inspiration - See Below) - I was inspired by the pretty colors - pastels, pink and green.  Nothing says SUMMER like pretty flowers.

FUN New Challenge at Word Art Wednesday

Ready for the chance to WIN a fabulous prize?  Well, if you're ready for that as well as some great inspiration and a free digital scripture (optional to use) among other things, then I really hope you'll pop over HERE to Word Art Wednesday to play along in this challenge.  Our AWESOME sponsor for this challenge is the wonderful Penguin Palace.  If you're not familiar with them yet, you'll want to take a peek at their ADORABLE stamps, dies and products.  They're located in Canada for those of you who happen to live up in 'The Great White North".  You will just adore these super sweet stamps.  Since I don't yet own any, I chose to use the FREE scripture word art that you can find on the Word Art Wednesday Blog.
I used basic white cardstock for my base and layered it with a pretty pink patterned paper from the Craft Consortium 6x6 Ink Drops: Rose Paper Pad that I pressure embossed with an Altenew Organic Linen Embossing Folder.  I ran a length of a wide vintage white lace across my card to help POP the white.  The frame and journalling spot were rubbed with Ocean Blue and Raspberry Oxide Inks.
I used some glitter white, hot pink and turquoise Baker's Twine to create a pretty bow.  I attached some pretty pink and turquoise Double Head Stamens and I topped the bow with a handmade paper flower.  The finishing touch was adding two coordinating stick pins from my stash.  I love using lots of layers and adding various textures and elements to my cards.  That's why I took an otherwise very basic card and added a few extra touches to give it more texture and personality.  BTW....thank you to my friend, Dottie, for printing the scripture and mailing it to me; as I don't have a printer anymore.
I hope you're having FUN this week creating and sharing cards.  I really do hope that you will come and share ALL your cards with us at Word Art Wednesday.  Anything Goes/Family Friendly as always and a FABULOUS prize up for grabs from Penguin Palace.  I look forward to seeing you out there in blogland and especially at Word Art Wednesday.

I'm sharing my card in the following:

Can You Handle The Pressure - Anything Goes/Twist of (Optional) Stars - I used an Altenew embossing folder called Organic Linen on the piece of pink patterne3d paper.

Challenge #192 at The Card Concept Begins

It's time for a FUN new Easter/Spring Challenge over at The Card Concept and we sure would love for you to join us.  There's a gorgeous inspiration photo shared below and we hope you will add it to your blog post (to be eligible to win), and let it inspire you in some way to create a card that you'll link in our gallery.  It's always way more fun when you are able to join us in all the fun and inspiration.  I can't wait to see what you will create to share with us.  Here's what I came up with for this challenge.
Here's the inspiration photo that gave me my ideas for colors, etc.  I started with some fun patterned papers from the Craft Consotrium's Brick Textures 6x6 Paper Pad, layered them, and machine stitched them together.  Next, I drew from the colors in the inspiration photo by adding a kraft tag, a journalling tag, a candle, and a canvas tag.
The sentiment I used is from Stamp Simply's Farmhouse Scriptural Quotes Stamp Set.  I just really fell in love with all the wood textures, bricks, and images in the inspiration photo and I used many of these elements in my card to try to give it all those rich textural elements.  The (HOME) journalling card is from Jenni Bowlin (old stash item).
I tied Solid Black Baker's Twine and Solid Ivory Baker's Twine onto my tag.  The canvas tag and kraft ticket are both from Maya Road.  The chipboard candle and chipboard clip are from Echo Park.  I also love the font of the sentiments in the Farmhouse Scriptural Quotes Stamp Set and I thought that matched the inspiration photo as well.   There are so many great inspirations to be found in this lovely photo.  How does it speak to you and to your creativity?  We can't wait to see it.
We all hope that you'll stop by The Card Concept to play along in this fun new challenge.  You can use anything in the photo to inspire you - a color, an image, a texture, etc.  Just let your creativity run wild and share what you design.  We can't wait to see what you'll come up with for this challenge.
Oh, before I run off here...I'd like to remind you of another FUN new challenge starting today over at Word Art Wednesday.  Our sponsor for this challenge is the AMAZING Stamps of Life offering a FABULOUS $25 prize to one lucky entrant.  Come, play along with us.

Here's where I'm sharing my art today:

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge Blog - Challenge #2312 - Anything Goes - I always love to play along here when I can.  This is my Entry 3/3.  Thanks for another great challenge, Pam.

Word Art Wednesday BLOG HOP Time

Welcome by my blog today, everyone.  It's time for the Annual Word Art Wednesday Blog Hop and there are LOTS of great prizes up for grabs.  The primary sponsor is Stamp Simply with a generous $25 gift voucher, we have Tonic Studios offering some their gorgeous stamps, dies and LOTS of other great products.  Each stop on this Blog Hop offers an awesome prize.  Just leave a comment on each blog to be entered to win that prize.  You should have arrived here by way of our Guest Designer, Esther's Blog, but if not, just head over to Word Art Wednesday to get started.
My card doesn't use the scripture word art because my printer has been broken for the longest time and we don't really have need of a home printer so we're not replacing it.  For that reason, I've chosen to create and share a card that features some products from our primary sponsor, Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.  I started with basic black cardstock and a patterned paper base that I machine stitched.  I added a scalloped frame from Taylored Expressions and I pressure embossed the center of it in red using a music embossing folder.  This is the prize being offered from my blog (just leave a comment).  It includes a Valentine stamp set, two Poppy Stamps die-cut sets and some Melissa Frances glitters.
The sentiment strip on my card was cut using the Fishtail Banner Dies and was also embossed using the Sizzix Snowfall Speckles Embossing Folder.  This sentiment is found in the Christmas Peace Stamp Set (Wishing You/God's) and the Peace die-cut is the Peace & Joy Word Die Cuts.  The pretty candle is also found in the Christmas Peace Stamp Set and I used the Christmas Peace Candle Die Cut to cut the candle.  The center of the framed area (in burgundy) is also pressure embossed with a music embossing folder to add even more wonderful texture to my card.
I ran a length of pretty Christmas Tradition Gingham Ribbon across my card and tied a bow with it.  I sure hope that you're hopping along with us in the Word Art Wednesday Annual Blog Hop.  There are so many great prizes.  And, anyone placing a new order at Stamp Simply during this challenge will be entered to win the Fishtail Banner Dies by leaving me a comment letting me know what you purchased.  WOW!  That's a total of TEN awesome prizes that you can win.
Be sure to leave a comment on each blog and then at Word Art Wednesday.  As always, the main prize can be won by entering our challenge and will be selected by random draw.  Have a blessed week, and thanks for sharing your art with us and for taking part in our FUN Blog Hop.  I pray that you will take time to thank God for the BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT EVER.  He has given us the gift of His Son, Jesus.  This gift is Essential, Expensive (but already paid for in full), Enjoyable, Exciting and Everlasting.  He offers it to you today, and my prayer is that you're enjoying it every day of your life and for ALL Eternity!

I'm playing along here:
Can You Handle the Pressure - Embossing Challenge Blog - Anything Goes/Christmas - I used the Tim Holtz Falling Snow Embossing Folder on my sentiment strip and my Music Embossing Folder on the framed area.  Entry 3/3

By The Sea at The Card Concept Challenge

It's the first day of a brand-new challenge over at The Card Concept Challenge Blog; and this time the challenge theme is "By The Sea".  You can create anything that the photo inspires you to make.  Let your creative talents run wild.  Because I was terribly pressed for time this week (and I didn't plan ahead through the end of the month), I threw together a very quick card for this challenge.
As you can clearly see, I completely ignored the color scheme and went with the idea of being "By The Sea" when I created this quick little card.  I started with a black cardstock and I used the Crimped Frame Dies from The Greetery on that as well as two October Afternoon journalling cards.  I attached them to the black base, and that was pretty much the entire card.
I attached a few October Afternoon star stickers to the card, and I tied a nice long length of Solid Red Baker's Twine around my card and tied it into a tidy bow.  Like I said, it's incredibly simple.  But that's just to remind everyone that making a card doesn't always need to be a big difficult chore.  Simply use what you have on hand to create something fun.  The challenges at The Card Concept are just a starting point for your creativity.  We can't wait to see what you will create to share with us at The Card Concept.
For lots of FUN with challenges, I really hope you'll come by The Card Concept this week to share your "By The Sea" and other Summer creations.  I'd also LOVE to have you stop by Word Art Wednesday to play along with us there as well.  The wonderful Altenew is our sponsor for this challenge.  Woo hoo.

I'm playing along here:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog - Simon Says "Something Beginning With an S" - I used a Sailboat, Solid Red Baker's Twine and Stickers.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog - Simon Says "Clean and Simple" and for those who know me, you're aware that this card is very clean and simple.

Dar & Diane's Double D Challenge Blog - Beach Time - I was inspired by the beachy ocean theme.
Where are you playing along this week?  I always enjoy a good challenge, and I hope to see some of your art this week as well.  Happy crafting, everyone.

Blessings,
Karen

Leaves Are Falling With Brutus Monroe

Well, here we are at the end of October already.  That went by SO quickly, didn't it?  Wow, I'm quickly realizing that Thanksgiving and Christmas are literally right around the corner.  Well, I've been getting in the Harvest spirit lately by using the new Harvest Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe.  This warm and welcoming new set is perfect for the season.
This card started with some of the cardstock from the Inspiration Box as well as a piece of the printed paper from the box.  I used those along with a small strip of the orange glitter paper and some green glitter paper from another Inspiration Box to run across my card - since this box does not include a ribbon assortment.  I stamped and die-cut the GORGEOUS leaves with Tim Holtz Oxide Inks and colored them with my Copics.  I wanted the leaves to be "falling" because the sentiment says "leaves are falling, Autum is calling"....so I made the leaves fall on the cute scarecrows.
As I like to do, I did some black machine stitching around the outer edge of my card.  The sentiment is stamped on a scrap of the paper I used for the background which is also included in the Inspiration Box.  Everything you see here on my card is included in the Harvest Inspiration Box, so you could literally make this exact card.  I love this time of year, and the Harvest Inspiration Box really celebrates everything Autumn.  The "boy" scarecrow is raised up with 3-D Foam Tape.
By the way.....there's a FUN challenge waiting for you all over at Word Art Wednesday.  This time, we are sponsored by the AWESOME Erin Lee Creative.  You won't want to miss out on this Anything Goes/Family Friendly Challenge where you can share your art, get some encouragement and inspiration, and play along to win awesome prizes.  Please come play along with us at Word Art Wednesday.  Here's a peek at my card using the free digital scripture image and lots of products from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.
Thank you once again for stopping by today.  I always appreciate your visits and comments; and I look forward to visiting your blog as well.  If you're not yet a "Follower" on my blog, I'd really appreciate having you Follow me.  I'd be more than happy to "Follow" you back.  Just leave me a message so I can find you.  I love making new blog friends.  Again, thanks for visiting.

My Scrap Cabin Sponsors Challenge at WAW

Oooooo....welcome by, sweet friends!  I'm SO excited to have you visit me today because something extra special is happening and you're invited to be a part of it.  The wonderful My Scrap Cabin Shop is sponsoring our new challenge at Word Art Wednesday; and that means one lucky person is going to win a $35 Gift Certificate to spend at My Scrap Cabin Shop.  Just look at what they carry.  YUM!
I ordered myself a few lovely bundles of Erin's GORGEOUS Seam Binding from her Etsy Shop.  As I browsed through ALL the available colors of crinkled Seam Binding at My Scrap Cabin Shop, it was difficult to narrow it down to my top favorites.  I'd love to own every luscious color in this sweet Etsy Shop.  I ended up with six lovely bundles of her gorgeous Seam Binding.  Here's the card I created using the free digital scripture file from Word Art Wednesday.  I inked the sentiment piece in Mint Ink and Spun Sugar Ink and cut (as the panels beneath) with a new die-cut I recently purchased from The Greetery called Crimped Frame Dies.
The background is layered with black, white, peachy pink, floral pattern, and scraps of patterned papers.  Yes, many layers of paper.  Once I had all those papers in place, I laid pieces of Trophy Seam Binding, Spearmint Seam Binding and Frosting Seam Binding across my card to add even more layering and texture to my card.  I added a couple of stickers from Echo Park Summer Market and a Tim Holtz miniature rusty paperclip.
I also added a pretty bow to my card in the upper left that includes more of the Frosting Seam Binding, Trophy Seam Binding, and some Black Licorice Baker's Twine topped with lots of Double Head Stamens, and a pretty Mint Green  (Mixed Pastels) Magnolia Flower.  I just LOVE Crinkled Seam Binding and My Scrap Cabin has SO many great colors of this perfectly crinkled trim.  I do hope you'll stop by My Scrap Cabin Shop to grab some of this great Seam Binding, and then come play along with us at Word Art Wednesday for your chance to win the $35 Gift Certificate.
Now you can see why I'm SO in loveđź’• with this gorgeous Seam Binding, and why I'm SO excited to have My Scrap Cabin Shop as our sponsor for the next two weeks over at Word Art Wednesday, the best little challenge blog I know (yes, I'm partial...lol) where we really want YOU to join us.  We all hope to see you playing along at Word Art Wednesday and lots of other fun challenge blogs this week.  Have a great one.

Blessings,
Karen
