Welcome by my blog today, everyone. It's time for the Annual Word Art Wednesday Blog Hop and there are LOTS of great prizes up for grabs. The primary sponsor is Stamp Simply with a generous $25 gift voucher, we have Tonic Studios offering some their gorgeous stamps, dies and LOTS of other great products. Each stop on this Blog Hop offers an awesome prize. Just leave a comment on each blog to be entered to win that prize. You should have arrived here by way of our Guest Designer, Esther's Blog, but if not, just head over to Word Art Wednesday to get started.
My card doesn't use the scripture word art because my printer has been broken for the longest time and we don't really have need of a home printer so we're not replacing it. For that reason, I've chosen to create and share a card that features some products from our primary sponsor, Stamp Simply Clear Stamps. I started with basic black cardstock and a patterned paper base that I machine stitched. I added a scalloped frame from Taylored Expressions and I pressure embossed the center of it in red using a music embossing folder. This is the prize being offered from my blog (just leave a comment). It includes a Valentine stamp set, two Poppy Stamps die-cut sets and some Melissa Frances glitters.
The sentiment strip on my card was cut using the Fishtail Banner Dies and was also embossed using the Sizzix Snowfall Speckles Embossing Folder. This sentiment is found in the Christmas Peace Stamp Set (Wishing You/God's) and the Peace die-cut is the Peace & Joy Word Die Cuts. The pretty candle is also found in the Christmas Peace Stamp Set and I used the Christmas Peace Candle Die Cut to cut the candle. The center of the framed area (in burgundy) is also pressure embossed with a music embossing folder to add even more wonderful texture to my card.
I ran a length of pretty Christmas Tradition Gingham Ribbon across my card and tied a bow with it. I sure hope that you're hopping along with us in the Word Art Wednesday Annual Blog Hop. There are so many great prizes. And, anyone placing a new order at Stamp Simply during this challenge will be entered to win the Fishtail Banner Dies by leaving me a comment letting me know what you purchased. WOW! That's a total of TEN awesome prizes that you can win.
Be sure to leave a comment on each blog and then at Word Art Wednesday. As always, the main prize can be won by entering our challenge and will be selected by random draw. Have a blessed week, and thanks for sharing your art with us and for taking part in our FUN Blog Hop. I pray that you will take time to thank God for the BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT EVER. He has given us the gift of His Son, Jesus. This gift is Essential, Expensive (but already paid for in full), Enjoyable, Exciting and Everlasting. He offers it to you today, and my prayer is that you're enjoying it every day of your life and for ALL Eternity!
I'm playing along here:
Can You Handle the Pressure - Embossing Challenge Blog - Anything Goes/Christmas - I used the Tim Holtz Falling Snow Embossing Folder on my sentiment strip and my Music Embossing Folder on the framed area. Entry 3/3
Blessings,
Karen

Karen, what a pleasure to visit your blog and leave you some kind words after all the times you have done the same for me! Your card is stunning! I love the way you did embossing on two different parts of the card using two different embossing folders (why haven't I ever thought of doing that?!), and your machine stitching is such a nice touch. The "Peace" die cut with the flourishes is gorgeous in that gold glitter card stock you used. God has certainly given you a gift for artistry in your cards! Have a lovely Christmas and a joy-filled new year!
ReplyDeleteWonderful design and sentiment on your lovely card! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOf course I love your pretty card & all it's layers. The candles are really lovely, adore the plaid ribbon as well as the musical score embossed layer. And the BG paper is the perfect backdrop to tie it all together. Merry Christmas, my friend. As your sentiment says, I wish you God's peace now and always. Becca xoxo
ReplyDeleteKaren, I remember when I started blogging about 5 years ago, you always posted such wonderfully encouraging comments on my cards. Thanks so much for that as starting a blog was a bit terrifying for this tech impaired crafter! So... it is always fun to get to comment on your artistic creations. And this one is stellar. I love how it has both a rustic AND elegant vibe with it's rich colors, textures, patterns, and especially the sparkle. It is so very pretty! TFS from Kathy A @myasperations
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning with its own tartan plaid ribbon and bow!! The candles are exquisite along with the embossed pieces!! The color and design is picturesque and love it!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Years my friend!! And Amen for Jesus being the best gift of all!!!
