Word Art Wednesday & Paper Sweeties

Since it's already Wednesday again, that means it's time for a new challenge at Word Art Wednesday and a new piece of free scripture/word art.  You can save it to your computer by visiting the blog here:  Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes.  You are never required to use the free scripture/word art in order to play along, but it's there for you if you want it.  I just love making cards with scripture on them.  I give them to friends, family members and my church family when they need encouragement.  Here is the card I made for this week:
We would really love to have you stop by Word Art Wednesday and play along with us.  It's always more fun when you all can join us.  We hope to see YOU this week.

http://useittuesday.blogspot.com/2012/11/challenge-43-be-thankful.html - Use It Tuesday - Challenge #43 - Be Thankful.  This first card takes me back to my childhood because I am SO grateful for parents and grandparents that helped me learn the importance of memorizing and using Bible scriptures.  Knowing scripture helps us to not sin against God.  The second card I shared is also a THANK YOU card, so I really enjoyed this challenge.

I also made this second card LATE last night for the challenge over at Paper Sweeties.  If you haven't checked out Paper Sweeties yet, you will definitely want to do so.  They're having a big release of new stamps, as well as an event on Facebook.  Stop by, say hello to Debbie and her talented Design Team, and order some darling stamps so you can play along.  Prices are very fair, and shipping rates are quite reasonable.

http://paperprettiesblog.blogspot.com/2012/11/paper-pretties-wednesday-challenge_14.html - Paper Pretties Challenge Blog - Challenge #14 - Buttons - I made my button to match my project by taking a clear button and backing it with matchine patterned paper.  Works great to help match products with the buttons you use.  Fun idea.

http://happycamperscc.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/happy-campers-challenge-no-4-use-bright.html - Happy Camers Challenges - Challenge #4 - Use Bright Colors.  Card Recipe:  My bright colors include layering three patterned papers and one journaling card from Simple Stories that I machine stitched, I used Paper Sweeties stamps and canteloupe seam binding.  My crafty tip is that I also made a matching button for this card using a clear button that I backed with the matching Simple Stories paper (this is a great way to make embellishments that match your project), and I finished the hand-made buttons by adding hot pink and brown baker's twine tied in a bow.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I look forward to stopping by and seeing your art for this week, and hope that you will all share your creations with us at Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes.

Have a blessed day,
Karen

  1. Beautiful cards, Karen!! I love the sewing on the 2nd one. My machines are in storage (and in need of servicing) so I admire those that sew on their cards. I REALLY like the flowers on the WAW card. Fantastic placement. I love using Scripture on cards too and you set this one off perfectly! I'm thankful for you! {{hugs}}

  18. I like both cards, but my favorite is the second one. The miniature banner garland is so sweet. By the way, I can't wait to be a guest on WAW. If you can get me the scriptures you'll be featuring by mid-December, I will start working on my entries during the Christmas holidays. Have a blessed thanksgiving!
