Mini Paper Bag Pocket Revisted

Last time I made a mini brown paper bag pocket and did a brief tutorial showing how to easily make one, I had such an overwhelming response of people who recreated the pocket so beautifully that I decided to revisit this favorite little gift-giving idea.  Thank you SO MUCH Gail Scott, Carole Robb-Bisson and Arnoldo Romero for beautifully recreating this paper bag idea.  You each did such a unique and amazing job, and I was SO incredibly humbled and blessed to have ANYONE be inspired by my art; but to have all three of you create SO beautifully just really blessed my heart, and I thank you so much.  I hope that EVERYONE (all readers) will give this great, super easy idea a try for gift-giving or anything your imagination can dream up.  I would be SO blessed to see what any of you create.

So, I took a small brown paper sack and folded it upwards,  not quite to the middle, and machine stitched it in place to create a pocket.  Using a paper bag gives you instant pockets....it's VERY cool.  I am going to use this as a special "thank you" gift for our house sitter.  We pay her for watching the house and the dog, and she will just LOVE this sweet little pocket.  I will tuck her money inside with a little thank you note on the journaling spot.
This first picture is a close-up shot of the front of the pocket.  I used all Simple Stories Vintage Bliss patterned papers and chipboard (along with just a few other goodies).  I just loved how the little stems from the paper roses look like the butterfly's antennas.
The doily is from Martha Stewart, the journaling spot is from October Afternoon, and the rub-on is Melissa Frances.   I also did a good amount of machine stitching.  I just love this sweet collection from Simple Stories, and wait to create more with it!  You can find this paper pad here, at Classy Cards 'n Such and save yourself an extra 10% by using Coupon Code KAREN-10.
I decorated both sides of a shipping tag using more of the patterned paper, some ruler washi tape, a mini butterfly cut with a Martha Stewart punch with a mini pearl in the center.  Everything is machine stitched, I just couldn't resist!  You will even see that I machine stitched some journaling lines on the yellow tag on the pink tag.
You can kinda see the back side of the pocket in this last photo.  I tied some baker's twine around the whole thing as well and tied that knot into the seam binding knot on the front.  I really enjoyed making this project.

I'm entering this project in the following challenge because I was inspired by the color palette:

The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog - Challenge #56 - Candy Colors - Wasn't this a delicious color combination?  I love ribbons, lace and buttons.  Don't you?

Craf-Dee Bowz Challenge Blog - July Challenge - Hand-made Bows.  How fun!  I made by handmade bows out of my hand-dyed scrunched seam binding.  Here is a link to the tutorial where I recently shared how I make my seam binding bows.....Hand Dyed Seam Binding and Bow Tutorial.  I just LOVE making my own bows, but I just know that it would be so much easier to tie my hand-made bows with this AWESOME bow-maker, and I'm thrilled to be in the running to win one to make my bow-making life easier!  LOL  I'd also be happy to showcase it here on my blog!

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge Blog  - Challenge:  Anything But a Card - I did not make a card.  This is a paper bag pocket and the tag that I made to go inside the pocket!  See my blog post for details

Simon Stamp & Show Vintage Challenge Blog - Anything Goes

Frosted Designs Challenge Blog - Fabulous Friday Polka Dots Challenge - I just LOVE all the polka dot patterned papers in this collection.  You will my delightful polka dots everywhere!

May God bless you all today, and thanks so much for stopping by my little piece of blog land to say hello!  I am SO grateful for your visit, and I wish you all God's richest blessings.  By the way, you're always SO welcome to stop by and play along with us at Word Art Wednesday - always Anything Goes, and always great prizes to be won!  We would really enjoy having YOU join us!
