Sequins, Swag and Sweetness

As I mentioned before, I am completely SMITTEN with this week's challenge technique over at Papertrey Ink, and I have had SO much fun creating cards using this adorable Confetti Garland technique to thread some sequins onto baker's twine.  It just adds something SO sweet to the card.  For this one, I again used my ADORABLE Crate Paper Oh Darling line.  I took great inspiration from a card I found on Pinterest that was originally made by a lovely crafter named Natty; and if you click on her name, it will take you right to her original card so that you can see my inspiration photo.

I used the lovely Oh Darling patterned papers, embellishments, and chipboard girl and swag.  Aren't they the sweetest?  I actually found the 3-D embellishments at Tuesday Morning for just $1.99 and I was delighted to find them.  I threaded lots of sequins from V's Sweet Ideas onto my teal baker's twine and attached it to the chipboard swag.  I also added some Heidi Swapp white fabric scalloped trim.  The Papertrey Ink products I used are the lovely Heart Prints Die Set of 3 (I used the smallest one), and their lovely Wonderful Words Love Die for my sentiment, which I cut out of the Crate Paper patterned paper to help it all blend together nicely.  Papertrey Ink has such LOVELY die-cuts and stamps.  I've never won one of their challenges or contests, so I'd be tickled pink to win and get to buy some new goodies.

You can see that I really love dimension and textures, and that's why I tend to add A LOT to my cards.  I use material, lace, papers, and all kinds of great embellishments on my cards and projects.  Let me also say this.....as I mentioned above, I "scraplifted" this card from Natty as I often do.  There's nothing wrong with taking inspiration from other talented crafters.  That's why people use Pinterest.  The important thing to remember is that you ALWAYS give credit to the original artist, and mention them.  With that said, I sure don't mind (in fact, I'd be honored) if any of my creations ever inspire someone to "scraplift" them.  All I would ask if that you do the same thing, and give me credit for the inspiration.  It's also a BIG No-No to ever submit ANYTHING for publication that isn't your own, original art work.  Other than that, I would love to know if anything I make inspires someone that way other crafters' art has inspired me.  We are so blessed to have Pinterest, and the ability to visit blogs that give us such great ideas.  I hope that makes sense and doesn't upset anyone.  I'm truly SO grateful for all of you who stop by my blog to take a peek and leave me some love.

I'm going to enter my sweet card in the following challenges:

Nichole Heady's Papertrey Ink Blog - Challenge #199 - Confetti Garland.  My Papertrey Ink products used are  used are the lovely Heart Prints Die Set of 3 (I used the smallest one), and their lovely Wonderful Words Love Die for my sentiment, which I cut out of the Crate Paper patterned paper to help it all blend together nicely.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Anything Goes"

DRS Designs Rubber Stamps Blog - Challenge #159 - SO Shapely - What a WONDERFUL challenge.  We don't often stop to think about all the amazing shapes we see and use.  This card includes circles (sequins), scallops, and hearts; not to mention the shape of the girl.  How fun!  And....I would LOVE to finally have a DRS Designs stamp!

Craftin' Desert Divas Link It Up - Linky Party #47 - 3-D Projects - My paper doll is 3-D and all those sequins and embellishments make my card 3-D.  Everything POPS right off the paper!

Thanks again for stopping by my blog, and for your wonderful and encouraging words.  You are such a blessing to me, and I look forward to visiting each of you to see what you've been creating.

God bless you all.  My Cup Runneth Over,

Karen
