Birthday Celebrations

Hello, sweet friends.  I'm blessed to have you stop by today to take a peek at some birthday cards I've created.  And because you can only enter challenges once per posting, I will have to make two or three separate posts for all these birthday cards I made, so please bear with me as I share them.
This first card was created with Crate Paper items from their Pretty Party line including patterned papers and chipboard elements (sentiment, cupcake and candle).  I also machine stitched the card, added a hot pink seam binding bow, and topped the cupcake with sequins to make it look like frosting.  I mean, frosting is th best part about birthdays, right?
For the tag, I used all the little scrap pieces of patterned paper that had been accumulating in my bin.  I pieced them together, machine stitched them, and added a journalling sticker that I hand stamped with a Verve birthday sentiment.  I also added a chipboard flower and some seam binding and ribbon at the top.

I will be linking up to a few challenges where I love to play along when I can.

Quick Quotes Scrapbooking Company - Challenge Blog - Challenge #62 - "Tag It" - I made a Happy Birthday tag to stick inside the birthday card so that the recipient can save it and use it as a bookmark or remembrance.

Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog - Challenge #152 - Aud Sentiments is Celebrating their 6th Birthday!   I couldn't resist playing along to wish them a VERY happy birthday, and I'm hoping that this sweet challenge blog will be around for many more birhdays to come.

Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesday - March Challenge - Pastels (Entry #3)

Please know how very grateful I am for your visits to my blog.  It makes my day to read your encouraging comments, and I really do hope that you're all having a wonderful week.  Isn't the crafting community the best (well, for the most part)?  There are always a few "party poopers" out there, but I have met more good people than bad, and have found so much great inspiration through the crafting community as well.  I know that I am VERY grateful for you!

  11. Dear Karen,
thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving so nice words for me. I was very happy to read your lines. I cruised around a bit here and found, that the card and the tag are sooooo nice. I love the pattern combinations and the sewing on them so much. It is so cozy and vintage. Your images look sooo professional! I am very impressed. I needed to check two times, if the tag was an inspiration photo or if you made it yourself. Have a wonderful day! Hugs from stempelfrida
