Fun With Felt

Like so many of you, my life is always busy.....at some times even more than others.  So, with all my personal responsibilities, and then my Design Team responsibilities, it's not always easy to find the time to create specific cards and projects just for fun.  With that said, every now and then, I find a challenge where I really want to play along, and such is the case this week.  I really wanted to at least throw my hat in the ring on a few challenges, so I was blessed to find the time to create this project.
I used one of my coveted and hoarded Crate Paper wooden embroidery hoops and traced a cardboard circle to reinforce the back.  Then, I made another circle from the brushed material and layered it onto the cardboard to give it some great texture on its background.  Next, I cut a tree trunk (My Favorite Things) from brown wool felt, covered a Maya Road chipboard piece with green wool felt for the tree top, and then used red and yellow wool felt to cut the leaves I placed on the tree (also My Favorite Things).  I strategically placed a few "fallen" leaves at the bottom of the tree trunk.
For the finishing touches, I added an October Afternoon journalling sticker with a Melissa Frances rub-on (give thanks), and then tied two bows; one with Lipstick Red Seam Binding, and one with Mimosa Yellow Seam Binding, and topped that bow with a small wooden button that's tied with Solid Green Baker's Twine.

That's all there is to it.  I was completely inspired on this one by the inspiration photo below for Curtain Call.  Luckily, I found a couple other challenges I could enter as well.  I really appreciate your thoughts and comments, and I want to thank you for stopping by.

Curtain Call Challenge - Inspiration Photo Challenge - Felt - I used several sweet colors of wool felt to create my card. This (below) is their inspiration photo for the challenge.

Crafty Calendar Challenge - November Challenge:  Autumn Colors - I just love making Autumn inspired projects, and this one really spoke to me.  Thanks for a much-needed challenge!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Thinking of You - While my project doesn't say "thinking of you"; this is how I let people know I'm thinking of them...I give them hand-made gifts.  This one is going to a friend in Minnesota who I miss all the time, and want her to know that I'm "thinking of her".
