My First Day of School

Oh, I remember it so well!  That first day of school excitement when our kids would put on their new uniforms, tuck everything into their awesome new backpack, I'd make a special lunch to put in their new lunch boxes along with a little hand-written note, and they'd be on their way.   It's hard to believe that in October (so soon now), I will have my first granddaughter.  And before we know it, she will be heading off for her "First Day of School".  But for right now, I'm just helping one of my (older/married) nieces celebrate her oldest daughter's first day of school.  It's always an exciting time, and I love seeing the photos.  I made this little card for Leilah to open after her first day of school.
I created my card by using (almost 100%) October Afternoon products.  The patterned paper base is from October Afternoon as are the sticker borders, journalling stickers, decorative stickers and apple rub-on.  The only things that aren't from October Afternoon are the wooden ruler (craft store), the red gingham ribbon and May Arts cotton ribbon, Event Record card, the flatback gingham button, and the Melissa Frances rub-on sentiment.  It's a fun card, and I know Leilah's mom will save it and place a picture of first day of school on the inside of it.  I think my favorite part is that SWEET apple rub-on that I placed over the (schedule) sticker (shown closer in the photo above).
Here is a list of the fun challenges where I'll be sharing my sweet little Back-to-School card.  I hope you are keeping crafty, and playing along in some challenges this week.  As always, I invite you to link up at Word Art Wednesday.  There are two FABULOUS prizes up for grabs again this challenge.  Have a great day, everyone!
And thanks SO much for stopping by today!
