For a month (or more now) I've been busy working on all my required design team projects for the next couple of months. We're expecting another grandbaby very soon now; and I just wanted to be prepared ahead of time for the busy times that come along with a new baby in the family. I'm sure we'll be doing lots of babysitting for "big brother" and helping out as much as possible. So....I did my best to work ahead and schedule all my prepared posts. I finally felt "almost caught-up enough" to look into a few challenges this week where I love to play along. I was able to make two inspired cards that I'd like to share.
I made a card duo inspired by the various challenges I've listed below. One primary element was the inspiration photo from Time Out Challenge Blog that really spoke to me in the way of my color scheme. As I looked at the inspiration photo, I saw the pretty seafoam/minty green and the peachy pink combination. Both cards follow that basic color pattern, and it happens to be one that I enjoy very much. I knew right away that I wanted to create these cards using Crate Paper products.
Everything I used is Crate Paper (unless noted otherwise) along with various colored cardstocks for the base of each card. My first card is the jar card. This is also a Crate Paper piece. It's a little shaker element, and it says LOVE. I was inspired to use the mason jar by the current challenge over at Double D Challenge Blog. Lots of little stickers, ephemera, and small accents on this sweet card.
My second card is the coffee mug card. This one was again inspired by the Time Out Challenge photo in regards to the color scheme as well as the coffee mug. I searched high and low for the perfect coffee mug die; and I couldn't find the shape I really wanted (as in photo) so I used a cute Paper Sweeties die-cut for the coffee cup.
The stamped sentiment on this card is from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps. I used this serious/quirky sentiment due to the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge being funny/punny. I tried using a sentiment with a touch of humor. I may have missed the mark there a bit, but I tried. I also used some of my (much coveted) vintage scotch tape on this card. If you have any questions about anything else I used, feel free to ask.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm always grateful for your visits and comments. I hope to visit you as well. By the way....I'd LOVE to have you FOLLOW my blog if you're already already doing so. Thanks!

Here's the list of FUN challenges where I'm playing along:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog - Funny/Punny - I used a serious/funny sentiment (as explained above); and it's not super funny, but it's a humorous touch to my serious need for coffee and Jesus.
Time Out Challenge Blog - Challenge #194 - Inspiration Photo - As explained above, I was inspired by photo on both cards as far as my color scheme goes. I was primarily drawn to the minty green/peachy pink combo. I was also drawn to the coffee mug. Special thanks to sweet Kim of Running Stitch Design for her generous offering. Be sure to visit her Etsy Shop.
Dar & Diane's Double D Challenge Blog - Mason Jar Challenge - I explained above how I was inspired. My little shaker element mason jar is from Crate Paper.
Beautiful cards Karen - love the second one in particular
