I don't know about you, but my garden doesn't grow a whole lot of anything. I do have some lovely rose bushes in the front yard, but that's about it. Most of my "gardening" is done through paper crafting. And if you're ready to show us how your garden grows...then you'll LOVE the new challenge at The Card Concept. Just look at this beautiful inspiration photo. How does it inspire you?I fell in LOVE with the beautiful colors. That hot pink, periwinkle, dusty blue and fern green combination - yes, please! I also love the flowers in the window flower box as well as the flowers hanging on the front door. Now THAT'S a garden I can enjoy. Here's how I was inspired.
I used some basic grey cardstock and added a piece of light green corrugated cardboard for texture. I used a piece of white paper to add some pink water color and then I used a stamp set from Altenew for the flowers/leaves. The chipboard pieces (gardening tools and sentiment strip) are from Carta Bella's Spring Market collection, and the sentiment (plus hearts) are also Carta Bella. I added some bundled Ivory Burlap String and topped one of the gardening tools with a Miniature Sweetheart Blossom. I did a bit of machine stitching on my card as well. I just love all the different layers and textures. If you have any questions about what I used to create my card, please feel free to ask. I always enjoy your thoughts and comments.
Please stop by The Card Concept to share your sweet garden cards with us. In fact, you don't necessarily have to make a garden scene. Perhaps the colors speak to you, or a shape, or....anything at all. We just really enjoy having you play along in the challenges. Oh! And be sure to read all the rules if you're entering to win. I've seen way too many beautiful entries get disqualified because the rules weren't followed; and that's a shame. We want your beautiful entries to quality for top honors because we really appreciate having you share your talents with us at The Card Concept.
I'm playing along in these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says ANYTHING GOES
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Simon Says WILD and WONDERFUL - Nothing quite as WILD as a garden and all its weeds.
Happy crafting!
